I had a bathroom remodel and two exterior doors installed to my home using Independent Living Solutions. The shower leaked through the floor into the basement as if a faucet was fully open, destroying the ceiling in the basement. The sheet-rock on the basement ceiling has started to separate and the tape has started to peel away. The two exterior doors were also installed incorrectly. They were installed to low and the seal on the door was cut off by the floor when opening. Water then entered the home during a storm resulting in the sub-floor, flooring and cabinets being destroyed. The fix requires the sub-flooring be replaced and the entire floor to be replaced, as well as water damaged cabinets be replaced. We used a waiver to have this work done, which requires the state to pick a contractor. The state came out to look at the damage and agreed that the doors and shower were both installed incorrectly. I also filed a claim with my homeowners insurance, which was denied because of faulty installation of the doors, and was told have the contractor pay to have it fixed. A full report from my insurance company will be arriving in a few days. From the time we were granted to have the work be done to the time it was complete was over a year. He wasn't answering phone calls and was absent for months at a time.
