July 2021 Quoted 4-6mo turn around on piano refinishing (contract on file) Kawai upright maple ****************************** delivered to Ackerman's in Lakeville by *****'s Piano Moving (receipt on file)Ackerman's accepted both my piano, piano bench, and $1750 deposit. Ackerman's cashed the check July 2021 (cancelled check on file)After 12/21 - I called every 2 months (dates/times of calls on file), if I reached a person (***, ***, ***** and others) it was consistently the same story as to why it was taking so long to finish my piano and it would be another 2-3 months before they would get to my piano.Their rationale:Covid, short staffed, high turnover rate, large backlog of projects, lost technicians, called the owner out of retirement to work on pianos 8/3/22 one of the owners, ***, left me a recorded voicemail which said there were just a few pianos ahead of mine and it would be another 2-3 months (audio recording on file)It's now a year later, and they do not have the courtesy to even return calls or provide status updates. Very poor communication, their voicemail is always full and cannot take messages. They do not respond to email or ******** messages.July 2023 - spoke with *****, she could not "find" my piano, stated they are no longer taking are projects because they are backlogged 2 years. She took a message and would have the owner return my call. Call not returned, emails 7/24, 7/26, 8/4 - no response 8/4/23 - after more than 2 years of holding both my piano/bench, and cashing my deposit check, still no communication or status updates on the piano. They have not returned my piano finished or unfinished, and they have returned my deposit. I am seeing this as not doing business in good faith. At what point is this appropriate for civil action? I want the piano returned or if it is damaged, I want the piano and bench replaced and the deposit returned with ******************* the piano finished and delivered based on the initial July 2021 quote.
