Do not support! We got our kitten from Happy Tails Rescue and they gave us a sick cat. They don't spayed/neutered/vaccinate the animal until the day you're picking it up or after they have received payment from you. Their cages/room is packed with cats. It is so stuffy back there. A lot of their cats are sick. Our cat came home with upper respiratory symptoms but no medications given to us. I called and left a voice mail asking for meds but days gone by and no return call what so ever. We ended up taking the kitten back after 3.5 weeks due to our health. I was having asthma attacks and wheezing/cough after I touch the kitten or just being close by. Along with my daughter. My husband and son were having more of allergies symptoms. Since it was due to our health, I had asked for a partial refund from the manger since we really had no choice but to bring her back there. Without any sympathy she denied my request. I felt so bad that I had to take her back to this filthy place.

Taken from the surrender form: Please describe all known health issues in detail. The cat is doing good. But ever since we got her I've developed this cough and asthma attacks. I do not have asthma until we adopted her. I was prescribed an inhaler and have been taking allergies meds but it is not helping. My husband and kids have allergies like symptoms. My daughter ****** when she touches the kitten. After she was denied a refund- then "issues" were brought up. We do make the no refund policy very clear - it is stated on application, invoice, and contract. We do spay/neuter and vaccinate every animal - ASAP after arrival. The rescue has a med team on staff with a full service vet clinic.

10-13-23, we adopted "*****" from HT. We drove to the fosters home with all 5 of my children. We were told how "laid back, lazy, and an all around great dog" she was. We were even told HT would wave the required training as she was "***************". The advertising of ***** stated she was "kid friendly". The night we brought her home she bit one of my children. I reached out to HT and explained what happened. I was upset, but trying to take into consideration that ***** was in a new plave and probably scared. The next day, she bit another of my children who was attempting to put her leash on to take her out. I again informed HT. Explained that we can not have a dog who bites in our home. I stated it was less than 24hrs and a refund would be proper in this situation. HT sited the contract. Stated they wouldn't refund but that they would take her back for the $75 surrender fee. HT continues to make mention about how she never bit at the fosters because they were 'respectful' children. When we picked her up, the fosters husband saw the interaction my children had with *****. How respectful they were to her. Her biting was unprovoked. All we want is for ***** to go to a home w/o kids, have a refund and not deal with this rescue EVER again. I would even take the $75 surrender fee off of the refund. They refused. I have emailed countless times, tried to txt, even requested a call and was not given the courtesy of a reply. Please people, find a different rescue.

***** was being fostered with three children (5,6,&13) for 2 weeks with no biting or aggression. She was a little nervous and shy so needed a few days to adjust and realize she was safe. HTR stressed that to the adopter needed to give her space for a few days to let her adjust - she needed time to trust everyone in the house. ***** is a little shy dog- We cannot imagine that she walked up and bit children unprovoked. While at the adoption center, the clinic, and in ****** she never showed any aggression. Four or five staff members have responded to adopter. Gave her tips to help with the adjustment and did offer to take her back (even same day). Adopter saying she was not responded to is a lie. Adopter was responded to multiple times by multiple people- she did not get the answer she wanted. These were taken from the adoption contract that she signed and agreed to before adoption. - There will be an adjustment period, especially with older animals and in multi-animal homes. Remember to be patient, consistent, and understanding.- NO REFUNDS will be issued in the event of a return.- I will give my new family member 72 hours to settle in before making a decision that it is not working out.-I will contact ***, *************** or another professional dog trainer prior to making any surrender requests due to behavior.-I understand, as stated in my adoption contract, my adoption fee is NOT refundable.-Please remember that this is a rescue animal and HTR has little or no knowledge of the animal's previous environment and therefore is not responsible for the temperament or health of this animal, other than as specifically set forth in this Agreement. We would love to have ***** returned to us and go back to her ****** home where she was comfortable and not aggressive. We believe that her stress level must be very high in her new environment if she has had to resort to biting to have her space respected.

Happy Tails has been unhelpful and has made me feel like my family are not competent dog owners. We have been rejected for all applications due to the fact we wont let our dog be an inside dog when we have a beautiful 2 acre property and a whole downstairs area for a dog to sleep and relax. We are extremely attentive dog owners and absolutely love them, Happy Tails have made me feel like a complete idiot and question what is my way of training and owning a dog. They took an extensive amount of time to get into contact and also dont have a phone number to contact, which I find really impersonal.

This place is a ripe off. We got this gorgeous beagle pup daisy. She is 2 yrs old. And back up for adoption has been for awhile. Unfortunately we had to take here back. Long story short. She had no info on background when we got her other than shots that were done by department of animal control care... we got her home kept her for almost 2 months. Not a good dog at all. Peed in house and sh** as well... they charged us 550 for adoption fee. Which came out to about 600. They they tell ** that we had to sign up for training classes before we can adopt her and they need proof of a receipt as proof that we did so. Which was another 120 bucks that we had to spend. When we took her back. We got no money back. And they charge an extra ***** on top of it to take her back as a surrender. They also made us wait 2 weeks before they could take her. She is not being fostered and is being held at the rescue place. No JOKE. Do not got through them. They have no trail time, the meet and greet is not in a separate room for the dog and you. They do it in the open hallway where everyone is coming and going and meeting other dogs. I would like to give a heads up don't do it unless you want to be taken to the cleaners. If I could I would have not give any stars. Be wise read reviews. Would lo e to see them shut down and animals protected better.

My grandchildren were bit by a rescue dog from this business. The business refused to take the rescue dog back for two weeks. My family contacted their lawyer and had the time reduced to one week. The business refused to refund any money to my family. Two of the 3 children were bit by the dog even tho they were told it was a child friendly dog. This business refused to refund any money to my family. Please let people know they should not use this rescue service. It is in my opinion a terrible business!

At the time of adoption adopter signed a contract saying they understood it can take up to 2 weeks to take a dog back as HTR is ****** based. However in this case HTR staff worked very hard and quickly to find a place for the pup a few days later. The adopter had a family member, that is not authorized to practice law, contact HTR with what was meant to be an intimidating letter. When HTR got this letter their lawyer was brought into the loop as HTR was no longer comfortable being in contact with the adopter or their relatives. The lawyer was used for communicating between HTR and the adopter. The lawyer played no part in the time line of the dogs return. The return was rushed because HTR worried about the dogs safety in the adopters home as the adopter was not keeping the dog or her children safe. The adopter was well aware of the refund policy when she adopted. The dog had no issues with children while in the care of HTR. However the children HTR had around the dog before adoption were respectful. The bites happened when the children were taking things from the dog and bothering him in his crate. HTR does make it very clear to every adopter that these are rescue animals and there is no guarantee no behavior.
