SAVE YOUR MONEY! I attended classes online in 2009 for my BS in Child Development. I always logged into my classes early and gave my introduction as soon as they were available. A class I had registered for in June 2009 somehow glitched when I signed in to give my introduction. I reviewed all my assignments and the syllabus then posted my introduction to show that I attended. I had checked into the class numerous times that week and there didn’t seem to be any discussions going on. The following week when I went to log in I was locked out and received a notice that I had dropped the class due to non participation! I tried to reach out to my academic advisor numerous times but only got a voicemail. I worked during the day so I did miss their call because I am unable to answer my phone while in my classroom. Then I received a bill in the mail from them for $1135. I petitioned this claim and brought it to the attention of anyone willing to listen. They denied my petition because Their records show that I didn’t log into the class! Total BS I was a straight A student and I’m sure their records show that as well as shows that I signed into each of my classes on the Sunday before the actual class started!. Because of that I can’t even get a transcript for the classes that I did complete and PAID FOR! I saved all the communication emails! I WANT MY CLASS CREDITS!Walden University, LLC

I started my doctorate in social work at Walden in 2018. Things were great in the beginning during the course work stage, but once I got to the capstone things were terrible. My initial chair was okay although her accent was hard to understand and she wouldn’t do video calls. She got my to the Proposal stage then left the university. The chair that replaced her was terrible and unhelpful. She changed her mind after every correction. I spent $100k trying to get this degree and never received it. When I decided to withdraw from the program I asked if I could at least get matriculated in the masters program in administration, and was told no although the course work was identical. I rate this school a 0 and wish I went somewhere else!Walden University, LLC

If I could give Walden University zero stars, I would. I cannot explain enough how awful this school it. There is absolutely no teaching, guidance or help. The professors don't even know how to answer your questions because they probably don't even know what their class actually entails. I had to reach out to the director on numerous occasions because I could not get ahold of my professor for weeks. The exams are solely based off the book which is crap, very unorganized and useless. None of their NP practicum rules are straightforward but again, you can't get ahold of anyone about it. They do not care if you're held back a semester, even if it's a result of their mistake/wrong regulations - yes wrong, they told me some kind of crap about why one of my rotations wasn't approved but when I went to the SBON, they said they had no clue what my school is talking about. One professor flunked one of my assignments and when I asked her to explain what I did wrong, (after going to the director because it had been weeks and she hadn't responded yet), she said it was a "grading error" and fixed the grade to be 100%. Then the last assignment of the semester, she nearly flunked me on even though it was about my own study plan and how my skills improved throughout the semester. Truly a HORRIBLE experience and I DO NOT recommend.Walden University, LLC

Had a wonderful experience until I started receiving the hassles of getting credits for courses that i have taken. The acceleration degree employee has no clue of how i can receive my credits and i have sent my training file from my employer and was told today that it would not be acceptable as they are requesting the certificate. I had one employer send a letter head stating that i passed basic training and it says it on my training report however i am being taunted for this. I have had no issues until now. I just hope it can be fixed as i don’t want to spend 5 years in a program when i have almost 8 years of experience in the field. This is stressful. A student since i started and I have been feeling great about my career and work but this is stressful. I just want the credit for what i have completed. Not trying to get over on anyone.Walden University, LLC

Zero stars. I completed my Masters here but have had a totally different experience in their PhD program. Financial aid issues the first three semesters. In week 7 of 11 and still have not got my refund. Multiple calls a week just to be told someone will call me back, but they don't. Financial aid is manned in a call center hired by the university to read a script. Departments I need to talk to do not have phones or email addresses. Even reach out to the office of the president to no avail. Do not attend. As I see Walden's responce is for us to contact student affairs. That is a pointless exercise as they will give you the same song and dance and not respond after an email or two.Walden University, LLC

Initially, the school was good however they will not allow you to take a break when it comes to mental health. I had to take care of my father due to an issue with his health and withdrew from class Before it started and even provide documentation when he passed. They were not willing to help or listen to anything so now I can’t finish going to school due to them wanting payment for courses I never took. No empathy just pay ahead!Walden University, LLC

I wish I can rate this university with zero stars. I started classes in January. I reached out to my enrollment counselor asking him to withdraw me from the classes. I’ve never did any course work or receive a grade. Months later I’m receiving a bill saying I owe 1335. I reached out to their financial office asking why am I being charge for a class I only spent shy of 10 days in. In response from their financial office “I have to withdraw from the classes in 7 days” I asked for a copy of their policy stating that. I did not receive anything back in black saying I must drop in 7 days to avoid charges, but an email stating my charges are being forwarded to collection.Walden University, LLC

Avoid this school. No return on investment. Extremely expensive. Seemingly more interested in money than education. Mistakenly missed a payment based on an email they sent. Immediately turned to collector who added even more money. Keep looking for better options. This one is private and lacks concern.Walden University, LLC

Horrible university. I had doubts when I entered my program (MSN - PMHNP) but it was so convenient based on being online and having multiple start dates so I just went ahead with it. BAD IDEA. I would advise anyone to avoid this program at all costs. Imagine spending the nearly $50,000 for the program and then having to pay for several review courses (over $1,000 total) to actually learn content to prepare for the boards. I have been a straight-A student through undergrad and then with another master's degree program I completed and though I am still getting a 4.0 here, I have learned next to nothing. Instructors are difficult to communicate with and overall disinterested in teaching. There are no lectures, notes, Power Points, etc. for any courses. The courses with a midterm and final you do not get to see the results of your exams, you simply get a score. Every single exam I have taken has had multiple errors, which have affected the overall score (for example questions that have no correct answer listed or repeated questions or questions with every answer the same). Just very poor choice on my part to go against my better judgment and enroll, but by the time the worst of the issues came up I was already halfway through and couldn't afford to transfer universities at that time. I am a firm believer that you get out of your schooling what you put into it. Unfortunately at Walden, you are so severely limited on what you can get out of it that it's not worth it. My advice is look elsewhere. Do not waste your money here. University of North Dakota and other online programs are much more organized and student-friendly. Walden is simply interested in the money.Walden University, LLC

Walden's alleged core values are respect, trust, consideration, honesty, and cooperation. Yet my experience with Walden is the opposite. This past year, my mom got very ill, and, because of this, I received two Cs. According to Walden, receiving one C places you in an academic warning, and then receiving another puts you up for possible dismissal from the program. My advisor informed me that I would need to take two classes, which would be full-time status while working a full-time job to get in the right with Walden. If I received a C part-time two semesters in a row due to taking care of my mom, how would advising me to take two courses in one semester help me? I tried to voice my situation but there was zero consideration. I am very good at following directions, but this university's emails are beyond confusing. I received emails to complete forms, but there was no form attached. When reaching out to the financial department in my own portal with Walden, they had their own financial service number wrong, so I had to search the internet for the number. When you talk to an individual about your situation, the people you talk to cannot see your forms, so you trust that they will get your information correctly. They then transfer that to another member who can see your information and will only email back. Even when I asked for a call back, I never received it. When I asked for a supervisor to call me back within their 24-hour time frame- I never got it. I am a type one diabetic, and the stress that this university created caused my sugar and blood pressure to skyrocket. I had my father-in-law, who is an attorney, get involved. However, my family and I decided I should take a step back and rethink if this is really the University I'd want to hang a certificate in my office with its name on it. I am absolutely looking at switching to a university that will stand by the values that they stand on and one that I will be proud to say I attended.Walden University, LLC
