  Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:

  Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry Consent Order
  

  On December 17, 2024, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11(b)(1)(9)(10); 326B.33, subds. 12(c), 14, 15, 16,; 326B.35; 326B.36 (2022) and Minn. Rule 3800.3530; 3801.3780 (2021). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to assume full responsibility for all open and expired electrical permits and requests electrical inspections filed Spark Electric; to ensure all 2024 electrical permits and/or inspections pass final inspection by Feb. 28, 2025; ensure that all vehicles with the business's name and used for their work lists the business's name and license number  as required; and to ensure all employees are licensed as a master or journeyworker or have a registration as an unlicensed electrician in Minnesota and are properly supervised.  The business also agreed to file all required permits for electrical work before beginning work and schedule all required inspections within 14 days and ensure full compliance with the inspection reports. The owners of the business also agreed they would not certify work experience hours for others until the business has an electrical contractors license with DLI.   

  The business will also pay $10,000.00 of a $18,000.00 fine, with the balance stayed  on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
