I recently visited Allina Healthcare and was sent an online bill for $15.00. Statement states due date is April 21st is due date. Today in April 14th and I received another reminder that my bill is due 4-21-2025 This is the 2nd reminder for $15.00!! It's very frustrating to continue to get bill reminders when my bill is NOT due yet!!? I have always paid my bills on time and have never been late!! This the stupidest waste of time and money to constantly harass me with reminder notices! If you want to annoy your patients, you've been successful! Greed comes to mind!!Allina Health Systems

Dear *****,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent experience with billing reminders from Allina Health. We apologize for any frustration this has caused.
As of April 2023, Allina Health transitioned to a new system for communicating with our patients regarding balances due. With this system, unless a patient has opted out of one or more forms of communication, they will receive a paper statement once a month, along with text messages and emails throughout the month regarding their balance.
We understand that receiving multiple reminders before the due date can be frustrating, especially when you have always paid your bills on time. Our intention is to ensure that patients are well-informed about their balances, but we certainly do not want to cause any inconvenience.
We invite you to contact our *************************** at ************. One of our Patient Account Resolution Representatives will be happy to assist you in updating your communication preferences to reflect the types of communications you wish to receive from Allina Health regarding your balances. This update will only affect communication preferences related to outstanding balances and will not change your preferences for receiving appointment reminders, test results, or similar communications from Allina Health.
Thank you for your understanding and for giving us the opportunity to improve our services. We value your feedback and are committed to providing a better experience for all our patients.
Sincerely,
******Review fromJames B

1 starAfter speaking to my ************ Physician, I was referred for two appointments one for general care and one for specialty. I had a tele appointment where the *** showed up late and explained I did not need both appointments as the specialist appointment could take care of everything I needed. She asked if I wanted to continue even though she felt it was redundant with my next scheduled appointment. She said she could end the appointment, and I would not be billed, and I could just get care at my next appointment. I was billed and my insurance would not cover because I did not see the *** I called as was told that this bill was actually for my upcoming specialist consulting with my *** I never had a consultation with the first *** I decided to cancel my upcoming visit as I no longer trust the Allina Health system and do not wish to have to become a medical billing specialist just so I can track what they are trying to bill me for.Review fromZinzile K S

Allina Health is terrible to work with. On 08/28/2024 I had an appointment in their plastic surgery clinic. Everything went well and after discussion with the doctor they submitted my case to insurance and it was approved. However, my insurance made an error and it ended up being revealed that the surgery would be considered out of network. While disappointed, I accepted this and had a call with Allina about paying the bill for the initial consultation. On that call on 09/17/2024, Allina let me know the bill was $532. While I was still discussing with my insurance, they advised I pay towards the bill every month so its in good standing. I recorded the call as well. Since then I have paid off $310 (50/month) Ive been receiving a statement from them as well. I open a letter that I received in the mail on 03/4/2025 expecting another statement but its a letter dated 2/18/2025 saying my bill is going to collections if I do not respond or pay my balance in full in 30 days. Since Im within the 30 days, I figured if I call them Im ok. Then to my surprise I open a letter from a collection agency dated 2/25/2025 saying my bill is now in their hands. I call Allina health and ask them why has my bill been sent to collections when I am within the 30 days to respond. I receive apologies for this misstep (again call is recorded) Unfortunately, they reveal that they are unable to get the bill back and I have to pay to reliance which I accept. In turn, I request that they send to me in writing their apology and what happened with my case. They say they cant. Its clear that Allina really messed up, did not award me the 30 days to contact them as they sent my bill to collections 7 DAYS after sending me the final notice. Also to note ****** (unsure of spelling) in the ****************** was extremely rude, talking over me and not accepting fault even after apologising.Allina Health Systems

Abbott-Allina Health is absolutely horrible. In September 2024, my dad was admitted, and we repeatedly told them something wasnt righthe had signs of an infection. But they didnt listen. The next day, he ended up at Essentia Hospital, where they discovered he was septic from that same untreated infection. Fast forward to last week, and my dad was back at Abbott-Allina. He told the doctor he was struggling to breathe and suspected pneumonia. Again, the doctor dismissed him. Three days later, my dad passed away from complications of pneumonia, a blood clot, and a heart attack. If the doctors had just listened to him, he could still be here today. It's devastating to think that his life was cut short because no one took the time to truly hear what he was saying. A formal complaint will be submitted. Doctors need to learn to listen to their patients. I would hate for more people to have to go through this and have a loved one die because doctors dont listen.Allina Health Systems

1 starAllina unity uses agressive sales pressure on patients almost demanding they sign up for allina home care. They put a guilt trip on the patient about the safety of their home. They lead you to believe your release is dependent on signing up for privacy invasion by allina home care! The added stress to the patient is unacceptable plus the financial burden on people living on SS that can't afford it!Review frommarilyn h

7-8-24 11:55 am. Their Courage ****** ************* was great; however, their ************ cannot be reached. I was on hold for 45 minutes-then I was disconnected. Called again, I could hear someone on the line, clearing their throat, sniffling, etc, but just kept pushing the button, "high call volume." I then called their general customer service **** and said, "Thank you for waiting, please stay on the line." Maybe if they would answer their patient's calls, they'd receive payment faster. Invoices only provide the amount due and do not list what dates of service you are missing. I went to rehab for 6 months so many dates involved. Would always pay with a credit card on site unless their machine was down which I guess was 2x in those 6 months, I had to review my bank statements for 6 months to determine when their office machine was down. Patients expect MORE from Allina! I called another number to file a complaint and was put on hold again. So frustrated & disappointed!Allina Health Systems

2 starsThe staff was great during my visit. Dealing with the billing department, horrible. Three out of the four people I talked to on the phone seemed annoyed when I was trying to figure out how to get them to handle back-dated coverage through a second insurance provider. It's like they've never encountered my situation before and didn't want to spend any effort helping me out. They should be more understanding of people who don't know the magic incantations to get the billing straightened out.The other person was nice. They told me everything was taken care of and I could ignore my bill. I called a month later because I hadn't received any communications, and I find out they are still having issues billing my second provider. If I had not called back, my bill would have been sent to collections.Great job making me never want to deal with Allina ever again even if their staff do a great job treating their patients. To their phone support: be more understanding and don't sound like you're annoyed that someone called for help. You should be familiar with a variety of insurance situations and be willing to help. The people you are helping might not have had to deal with more complex insurance situations before.Review fromLinda S
