      Charging for a free service is a total fraud on the consumer. Paragon Document Research solicits consumers by writing them without any request to do so and calls them their clients. I am not a client, never will be a client and they keep writing me year after year with the hope I fall for their scam. Minnesota should shut down companies like this.

The Secretary of State does not send out forms for your convenience to file your annual renewal or reinstatement notifications, like Paragon does, due to the paperless goals of their office. Paragon does not gather personal company information, like the Secretary of State. Paragon does not sell your information like the Secretary of State. We are merely a private compliance office for domestic, LLC and foreign corporate entities. We feel that a friendly mailing of the forms and corporate status is a good reminder to have your annuals filed by the end of each year, or possibly a notice of being Administratively Dissolved by the Secretary of State. Entities that are in Good Standing status may send these documents into the Secretary of State with no fee for an annual renewal or you may also contact them at ************ for more information on the filing of your annual renewal/reinstatement, at their office, with a prior appointment, or online for renewals and reinstatements. There is a $25.00 state mandated reinstatement fee and also an additional $20.00 for state online filing convenience if this is done through their online website. For in-person at their offices downtown ************, **, offsite parking is provided in nearby parking ramps. Registered Office Address changes also have a charge by the Secretary of State. Our letter is not a solicitation for your business, nor a ploy for you to pay us money for filing your documentation. The Secretary of State will not notify you of an Administrative steps of Termination that their office has taken, if this is not filed in a timely manner. We file many corporate documents with the Secretary of ****** Office and surrounding county offices on a daily basis. These offices are all well aware of our business practices as a document filing and retrieval company for over 35 years of business. The processing fee covers our fee.       While it is technically not a scam, it is a very slippery way to do business. The form looks very official and urges that you pay them money to do something you can do for free. I like how they even say "you may call with a credit card or go online to ___their website__ to pay them. No mention of being able to go to the Sec. of State site and spend that same energy to save yourself the BS $50 fee. There's a place in h*ll for companies that prey on the ignorance of people trying to run an honest business. I shudder to think of how many years I've paid this fee to them. Spread the word and let's cripple operations like this.

      I also received this SCAM letter from Paragon wanting $50. to renew my assumed name for my business. Good think I checked the Security of State website first... there was no charge at all, and I did it all on-line. This Paragon place should be prosecuted for scamming people!

      I received a letter from this company that said "Minnesota - Secretary of State" at the top of the document. It claimed I needed to pay a fee of $50 to renew my Assumed Name. There is actually NO COST to renew my assumed name if I do so on the Minnesota Secretary of State's website. At the bottom of the page, it states that this is "not a communication from a state agency." Yet, at the top of the page, it clearly looks like they are trying to impersonate the Secretary of State. Do your research and do not pay this company to do something that you can easily do for free in just a few clicks.

      Scam. Complete Scam. Paragon Document Research mailed me a letter that states "As of March 1 ,2022, your Limited Liability Company (LLC) is not up to date with the Minnesota Secretary of State's Office." This is a blatant lie and a scare tactic designed to get me to unnecessarily pay a fee (of $125/180) to their company. The State of Minnesota renews LLC FOR FREE and does not "Administratively Terminate" companies like this. This company's only purpose is to fraudulently take money from people. They should be charged criminally and put out of business.
