Charging for a free service is a total fraud on the consumer. Paragon Document Research solicits consumers by writing them without any request to do so and calls them their clients. I am not a client, never will be a client and they keep writing me year after year with the hope I fall for their scam. Minnesota should shut down companies like this.

While it is technically not a scam, it is a very slippery way to do business. The form looks very official and urges that you pay them money to do something you can do for free. I like how they even say "you may call with a credit card or go online to ___their website__ to pay them. No mention of being able to go to the Sec. of State site and spend that same energy to save yourself the BS $50 fee. There's a place in h*ll for companies that prey on the ignorance of people trying to run an honest business. I shudder to think of how many years I've paid this fee to them. Spread the word and let's cripple operations like this.

I also received this SCAM letter from Paragon wanting $50. to renew my assumed name for my business. Good think I checked the Security of State website first... there was no charge at all, and I did it all on-line. This Paragon place should be prosecuted for scamming people!

I received a letter from this company that said "Minnesota - Secretary of State" at the top of the document. It claimed I needed to pay a fee of $50 to renew my Assumed Name. There is actually NO COST to renew my assumed name if I do so on the Minnesota Secretary of State's website. At the bottom of the page, it states that this is "not a communication from a state agency." Yet, at the top of the page, it clearly looks like they are trying to impersonate the Secretary of State. Do your research and do not pay this company to do something that you can easily do for free in just a few clicks.

Paragon Document Research Inc has sent a misleading letter trying to bait me into paying them a fifty dollar fee to file an annual renewal with the State of Minnesota for an assumed name. They are not in any way connected to the State, their letter is written as such some may believe they are required to pay the fee to Paragon. The form they provide to complete is available online with the State. There is no reason to pay an outside agency to file a document, that can easily be filed directly with the State without the additional cost. They are counting on people not reading through and understanding their communications. They are in the business of taking advantage of people. I consider these people scam artists, and shame on the BBB for giving this business a A+ rating.

This company is deliberately miss leading business owners, and yes PARAGON the state does send you a renewal notice. I get one every year. This company needs to be shut down and their documents they send out need to be presented to the state. FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD. I wish i could give them negative 5 stars.

This company is a fraud. Sends you an official looking document about your annual business renewal. Makes it appear like it's a state government service. The state does NOT charge $95 to renew your business/LLC, etc. This should be SHUT DOWN.
