      Our business moved to a new location that Big River did not service. We could no longer receive telephone services. I called and cancelled our telephone lines for one of our locations. No one at any time told me I was under a contract. I actually had a credit that Big River told me they would transfer over to my other account. Now I closed our 2nd account with Big ********************** and again was never told of any contract. I was asked why I was closing the service and I told them we no longer needed phone service at this location as the phone was never being used. Now I am balancing my bank statements to see that I was charged over $2,000 for an early termination fee on the first account. No one ever told me of the contract, or of the fee. I can not help it they will not offer phone service at my new location. Big River refused to provide me service therefore I had to get internet phones. Now they are charging me for a service they could no even provide me.

      Complaint was reviewed internally. The customer was contacted by phone at 10am on 8/15/24 and the following message was communicated.

      The complaint was reviewed by our internal department managers and it was determined that our course of action would be to  issued a credit of $2139.96 to reverse the etf on account #*******. A refund was processed of $2139.96 (in 2 transactions) back to the customer's cards on #*******. Another refund was processed for $10.68 on account #*******.

      Transaction receipts attached to our internal CRM system on each account.

      Customer was please with the resolution of this complaint when communicated.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I just advise that Big River notify customers of said unexpected charges to avoid this in the future.  Otherwise, I have used Big River Communications for many years and have never experienced a problem prior to this one.
