I gave this company a 35% deposit $2975.00 to complete a take out and replacement of a new drive way. The job was promised to be done in 3 days. They tore up the old driveway, then stated that they could no longer offer to hall away the concrete as originally agreed. I had to pay them an additional $800.00 to haul the concrete away. I paid them the $800.00 they requested, they then hauled away the concrete and never came back to pour the new driveway.

I went back to the job and tore up the asphalt that he wanted torn up.  He fired us and told us not to come back.  I will not be providing a refund due to the time that I have put into the job already.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:The business did not take out asphalt, but concrete.  Furthermore, the takeout was not complete, as a sidewalk section remained. I am willing to concede the $2975 deposit for what concrete was removed, but, in addition to this upfront deposit, I was charged another $800, as right in the middle of the takeout the  business alleged that the City of Columbia had all of a sudden refused to accept any additional concrete at the city dump site; the business told me they had found an alternative dump site, but  this site was charging $100 a load, and with an estimated 8 additional loads of concrete to remove, my bill was going to be another $800 before they could continue.  I was explicitly told that this was not my fault and that the $800 would be deducted from my total cost. I will not resolve this issue until this $800 is returned to me, as originally agreed. The $2975 deposit that I paid upfront was more than adequate to serve as payment for the one employee and one afternoon the business invested in what amounted to a partial concrete takeout.

    Sincerely,
