In July of 2024 Snapper installed an epoxy floor at customer's premises and the installation was defective to such a degree that the entire floor has to be removed and re-installed at great expense to customer. Snapper's installers also failed to protect adjoining surfaces on the premises and customer is required to pay to have the surfaces cleaned of quartz and epoxy. Customer's cost to repair and replace is $18,704 (see Ex. B). Our expert states as follows: EPOXY BASE: The epoxy base was not troweled on correctly with a coved trowel. This can be seen in the photos with the lack of a cove radius throughout the entire floor. The base has very rough texture and wasn't closed properly with a trowel and leaving trowel marks on the base throughout. EPOXY FLOOR FINISH: The entire floor had consistent trowel marks or squeegee marks. The texture of the floor was inconsistent due to not troweling and sealing the floor correctly. You can see clumps of quartz in the epoxy floor, this is caused by not cleaning quartz off the floor before the next coat of epoxy or urethane coatings. You can see epoxy and quartz on all the door frames, walls, FRP panels, brick, drains, and pipes. It looks like protection wasn't used to protect other finishes. Protection consist of taping and hanging plastic to protect other finishes just as a painter would for painting walls. In conclusion, My professional opinion is that the installer had very poor workmanship and knowledge to apply this coating system for Old Town Donuts. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS AND EXHIBITS)
