Contacted ******* ***** A touch Above in June for paint job in August 2021 . House under contract scheduled to start day of possession . ******* didn't see the house only had text him details. We hired ******* based on prior satisfaction he had painted cabinets and trim walls for us in 2019. we felt his prices were fair and competitive $3,500 kitchen cabinets and main floor, 2500 sq ft of trim , doors and walls in kitchen 2500sq ft This was a much bigger job 6500 sq ft floor to ceiling job. $1 million house but needed some updating from 20 years ago day I walked him through the house showed including ceilings / walls/ trim / doors / kitchen cabinets and6 vanities he wrote 28,000 on a piece of paper not including paint we had to provide all of the paint. Day 1 -3 a crew of 7 started on top floor.******* text daily only to request paint wanted me to pick up and deliver. Off and on ******* would stop by for 10 min first thing to check in.The crew leader showed up daily 50% of time only 1 other painter: took them 2.5 months to finish all ceilings doors walls trim didn't paint any cabinets or vanities. He text said they were finished up he wanted to get check. I reminded him last job they finished he had me tape spots then he walked through with me came back to touch up then payment collected. This time he was attempting to collect payment without doing a final walkthrough. Requested walkthrough met me looked only at top floor paint on trim, runs, missed spots, overspray, noprep done had not patched holes, sand or primed. Never looked at rest of house but wanted $, did a few touchups, but missed 85% . I put tape on spots never addressed. I text we pay him when job was complete. He text there were too many spots, I was picky, I was crazy it was old house they can't make it look new. ***** met him to address it 1 painter sent took him 2 weeks. Paid him 28,000. 2 months later cleaning to move in and notice overspray all over entire top floor text him 2x no respond.
