We bought a new travel trailer from Trailside in 2019. This ** has been nothing but a lemon, that required repairs literally after every time we used it. Thanks to a great **************** employee, most of the repairs were covered under warranty, but is was always a painful process.Last fall (September of 2021) we were on our way to ********, and one of the wheel bearings burnt up and left us stranded on I-70. This is when my frustration with Jayco and Trailside boiled over. After getting our ** repaired I contacted both Jayco (** manufacturer) and Trailside in an attempt to get them to reimburse me for my repair costs, and both were completely uncooperative. The ** was out of warranty by just a couple of weeks, so they felt like they had no obligation to pay for the repairs. I could have understood this, except for the fact that the axle that had the bearing failure had just been replaced under warranty. After multiple failed attempts to get some support from Trialside, through my own research I found out that the axle repair was covered under the axle manufacturer's warranty. I was able to get my repair costs paid for by this 3rd party supplier, but with absolutely no help from Trailside. The General Manager at Trailside was copied on all correspondence between myself and the service department as well as with Jayco and not once did he engage and offer any support. It should not be the ** owner's responsibility to chase warranty service from a 3rd party supplier, and for Trailside to completely wash their hands of the situation and offer no support is unacceptable. Needless to say, we will never do business with Trailside or own another Jayco product again. I hope that other prospective ** owners see this, and strongly consider the lack of customer service by ********************, when they are deciding where to take their business.
