Called on referral from Kohler generator national referral service. Refused to service generator, stating they didn't install the unit. I requested national referral service remove Academy Air from service referral list.

3/28/2025 This is my 2nd time hiring Academy Air and it did not go smoothly. 1st they blew off my schedule, that I took vacation for the installation that I was to have done. When a plumber finally showed up and removed my old sink he said that my counter top would not hold the new sink weight, and there was no way he could do my water heater. So I rush out and buy the 1st counter top I could get and came home and installed it that night so the plumber could install the new sink and plumbing. Academy forgot yet again to inform the plumber that he had a sink to install after his work in the bathroom so I had to make yet another call to their offices to get this done. During the install of the new sink the plumber dropped the sink onto the top of my new counter breaking it, but he didn't say a word to either my wife or me. He just caulked over where he broke it. It is noticeably caved in at this point and covered in caulk. Academy had no problem taking my 7K while causing me a day out of work for nothing and a couple hundred dollars of damaged countertop

I am not surprised to see this many bad reviews. I signed up for a 3 year member care plan when I found out I needed a new water heater. They quoted me $3600.00 just for the water heater alone. I found a $500 water heater at **********. I brought them out the next week for water leaking by my laundry room wall by my main stack. They claimed my sewer pipe under my concrete floor was busted. They would charge $4100 to uninstall water heater to move it and dig up concrete to fix pipe and put concrete back in and reinstall water heater. Instead of agreeing to that, I cut into the soggy laundry room wall the tech himself had noticed as well but did nothing about and discovered a HUGE drainpipe leak that had resulted in a LOT of black mold. I had them fix the pipe. By the way, they never applied my member care plan discount, and I'm not sure they ever did on any job they did for me. After they fixed the drainpipe, they never called the inspector office to have them come look at it to close the permit. I had to do it. Guess what? It was still leaking. They came out again and determined my plumbing was just all wrong, it all needed to be replaced cause, get this, there's no way to tell where a plumbing leak might be coming from; it'll cost $5,000. He said he would take another look to try to figure it out but all he did was stand in the kitchen and then leave. I ran some fixtures myself and estimated where the leak was, brought a different plumber in, and he found the leak right where I thought it would be; it cost me less than $200. All of this happened in the space of one month. I called to demand a refund of my member care plan I paid. They gave me "proof" that they had initiated a refund. 3 weeks later, I still hadn't gotten it, so I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! All their techs do is try to figure out how to pull the wool over your eyes so they can charge you thousands.

Im a long time customer ( over 30 years) that has experienced this company go from excellent to awful. Ever since ***** stepped aside i have seen this family run company slide downhill while growing too fast in my opinion. This resulted in long lead times, very high employee turnover , shy high pricing, mediocre work and a general we dont really care attitude. The customer ********************** girls answering the phones were the lone exception. They were generally pretty good ( especially JENN) !! I feel badly having to post this as i Never have done so previously, but i think its fair all things considered. **

Paid a fortune to have new furnace and ac put in. Did a wonderful job other than cost. Have had my unit less than 3 years and had them come to service unit. Great job! Then they came this year to service unit for the 1st this season. The day before they were to come ac unit was not cooling. Young man came out serviced unit cleaned everything and found a leak in a valve. Recharged ac unit and ordered part. They called to schedule repair, saying they had the part. By this time charge was not cooling house. It is around 100 degrees outside, they were suppose to come on wed. Got call at 330 they did not have part. My home is now registering 83 inside. Was suppose to come on mon to replace valve. Person went to get part from manufacturer and found out wrong part. Now I have to wait 5 more days. It is now 90 in my house. All I get is I am sorry. Well I am sorry I ever had the unit installed in my house. This is the 3rd furnace I have had installed in my house over the years and the first one to die within 3 years. Very disappointed. I am thinking of stopping all payment to them till repaired.

Highway robbery at it's finest. Tried to charge $22,000 for an HVAC unit and $13,000 for a hot water heater. Avoid these crooks at all costs.

**** and ********* showed up this morning. They both did a great job in our home. Fix everything they said on our bid. Very polite and informative on our situation. Saved us from future issues. Thank you to both men. Highly recommend these men.

I have used Academy Air twice. Both times the technician was professional, knowledgeable, and, polite; however, I feel the fee for the service was excessively high. Although the company has a payoff program, it doesn't negate the fact that it is still too high. I would have asked for another company to come out and assess the situation, but we were in dire need of getting a water problem under control. The people at the company are great, but the fees are too high.SJS

my **** faucet suddenly stopped working in my kitchen. The sensor wasnt working and even with the manual faucet, water was not coming out. In hindsight i should of replaced the batteries first before calling anyone but seeing that the water wasn't coming out when i tried the handle on its own - i thought it might be a bigger problem. The gentlemen came and first told me that it is hard to assess what is going, but we should try batteries first. i had to go get batteries and, in the meantime, he put together a quote and told me, if the batteries didnt work than it would be $525 just to assess the situation to figure out what is wrong and that the cost to fix the issue once the diagnosis was complete would be another fee. But long story short, putting in new batteries fixed the issue. He said because he assessed the situation and performed the work of putting batteries in that i would be charged for his labor and i had to pay $129. i think that is very excessive. i told him i understand paying the $69 service fee, but having to pay for him to put the batteries in feels like im being taken advantage of. He asked me if i wanted to put the batteries in or have him and he was already on the floor by the battery pack. i would have been happy to replace the batteries if i knew it would cost me. i understand seeking services for plumbing issues are never going to be cheap, but i am about fairness as well. i will not be seeking service from this company in the future and will do more due diligence on my part prior to calling for help.
