I had over ***** dollars of work done with meixner. They replaced my TPM. My blinkers have not worked since the repair. They claim it was not there fault. When my blinkers worked just fine before the repair. The. Then they called the police when I tried to debate them about it. They charge way too much for terrible job. Their customer service is not pleasant.

ON 04/17/2024 *** ****** brought his 2013 Grand Caravan in stating that there was a clicking under the hood and the vehicle wouldn't start.

The technician tested the circuits and found that the **** had failed. We let the customer know that there were additional issues (there are a lot of aftermarket wiring and other repairs that were done to the vehicle by the customer) but the **** had to be replaced before we could continue testing. We let *** ****** know that there were no guarantees.

On 06/24/2024 (2 months later) *** ****** brought the vehicle back and stated that his signals haven't worked since we replaced the ****. The technician then checked the vehicle out and diagnosed the problem as being related to the customer repaired battery cables that had melted and fell apart. (this was not related to the **** repair). *** ****** refused to have Meixner Tire & Auto replace the battery cables.

On 01/02/2025 (8 months after original repair)

*** ****** called and was complaining about signals not working. The manager let him know that it was the battery cables that needed replaced. *** ****** continued to call multiple times wanting to speak to two of the managers. When talking to the managers the customer was using profanities, at which time the managers told him they would not allow him to talk to them in that way. *** ****** then started threatening the managers. It was then that the managers felt that everyone's safety was in jeopardy.  The manager then called the police and filed a no trespass against *** ******.

Meixner Tire & Auto does not agree that they owe the customer anything. The vehicle was repaired for the original issue of a no start.  *** ****** refused to have the battery cables replaced at the time when we diagnosed the problem back on 06/24/******* Naylor is no longer allowed back on Meixner Tire & Auto's property.

Took my truck in for leaking coolant. After making several calls to the company. They finally told me I had a list of things wrong. Starting from bad seals on my axle as well as bad rear seals. I explained to them I have a warranty with ASD and to run everything through them. Again, after not hearing from them I call them back a couple days later and they told me everything was covered except, an oil change, oil plug and shop fees. This would be around $400 based on information I found. I agreed to the repairs. I received a call a few days later saying they could not get one of the axles off and that I was sitting at $800. Not sure how I got to $800. I had no choice but to pay it when I picked up the truck. After looking through my bill and comparing it to labor assessments, I have found that they are overcharging me. When I did question them about the bill they told me that parts were more than ASD warranty was going to pay and that no customer would get them for that price. They also told me they spent longer time than they were being paid on it. I'm not sure how this becomes a customer's responsibility when the customer was never contacted before the repairs were complete. To make things worse the other day my vehicle continued to leak coolant. This was the original issue that was never addressed. After investigating it myself, I found it had a bad water pump that needed to be repaired. The price for the water pump repair was $300. I am looking only to get $300 back to pay the original repair.

Mr. ****** brought his 2004 Silverado in to inspect for oil leaks. After inspecting the vehicle, there were several sources of the oil leaking. Meixner Tire & Auto called Mr. ****** and told him the sources of the oil leaks and gave him a breakdown of repairs. Mr. ****** stated that he had an ASD warranty and to claim it through the warranty company. The repair order was sent to the warranty company and the warranty company told Meixner Tire & Auto what it will pay on the repairs. Meixner Tire & Auto then called Mr. ****** and let him know what the warranty company will pay and what he will owe, which was an estimate of $800. Warranty companies do not pay the full amount of repairs, they only pay a portion of repairs. the technician spent a lot of time trying to remove an axel without pulling the differential, but was unable to remove it. Pulling the differential would be a considerable charge and the warranty company would not pay for that to be done. We did not charge for the time spent on trying to remove the axel, we just want Mr. ****** to know that we did our best to remove the axel without pulling the differential.

Mr. ****** called last week and stated he wanted us to check out his water pump on his truck for a coolant leak. We told him to bring it in and drop it off and we would check his truck out right away for this problem. On 11/4/24 we received the complaint and tried reaching out to Mr. ****** to have a conversation about his complaint. We left 2 messages and have no heard back currently.

The repair order that was signed by Mr. ****** clearly states that Mr. ****** came in for oil leaks. Meixner Tire & Auto has fixed the oil leaks to the best of our ability without considerable charges added. Meixner Tire & Auto has done the repairs that he had originally came in for and we do not feel we are responsible for the new problem.

Meixner Tire & Auto has reached out to Mr. ****** several times to address his concerns. Mr. ****** refuses to answer our calls and for Meixner Tire & Auto to be able to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle is a 2004 Silverado that had multiple oil leaks. *** has addressed Mr. ******* initial concerns, which were oil leaks. At the time that the mechanic inspected the vehicle, the water pump was not actively leaking which was noted on the invoice. The rear main seal was the biggest concern and was leaking oil all over and down into the oil pan. As noted on the invoice, the oil pan is damp, but no active leak. The mechanic was able to find another seal leak at the transfer case and transmission that possibly saved the transmission from burning up. The repairs for the axels were needed because they were slinging oil. The one axel that was not able to be replaced is still seeping. A stuck thermostat would cause the vehicle to overheat, not cause oil to leak. Once a vehicle is repaired, the owner of Meixner Tire & Auto personally drives the vehicle and then the mechanic inspects to make sure the concerns were addressed. On the initial complaint to the BBB, it is noted that Mr. ******** concerns was a water pump leaking. Then the rejection letter states that there is an oil pan leak and a stuck thermostat. Meixner Tire & Auto believes that the work that was completed on the vehicle has addressed Mr. ******** concerns. Meixner Tire & Auto has been in business for over 20 years and prides ourselves on customer satisfaction. ********************** Tire & Auto always communicates with the customer to make sure they are aware of what is wrong with the vehicle and how much the repair will cost before we proceed with the repairs. Meixner Tire & Auto does not believe that a refund is warranted.

    Thank you,

June 24th, July 1, July 11 We brought our car to Meixner to be worked on. They found two cams needed replaced, and I was able to have one covered through an extended warranty. When it was time to pay, I told them we had *** as they give a discount for ***. I was ignored, so I mentioned it again. I was told that there was a discount in there somewhere. A week later, the check engine light came back on and the car needed to be brought back in and checked out. They did a quick check and said it was fine to drive, but to set an appointment for July 11th when they look into it further. They told us they would take care of it. Our original receipt was also brought in and we had them double check- no *** discount was given. On July 11th, it was determined the gas cap needed to be replaced. We were told there was no charge. When we went to pick up the car, we were charged over $150 for a scan. At this point, I called the owner. He said he understood my frustration and said he would remove the charge for the scan. My husband called him today today to say that would be acceptable and he said they'd changed their minds because they'd given us discounts. Meixner employees lie and are disrespectfu.

    Tell us why here...August 6, 2022

On June 24th, 2022, **** ********* brought her 2017 D**** ***** ******* into our shop with a complaint of check engine light. Upon engine diagnostics, the vehicle was found to need both cylinder heads and gaskets removed and replaced.  Originally, when the car was brought in by *** And **** *********, they approved the work under the understanding that an *** discount would be involved on this repair. However, they later informed us that they wanted to use an extended warranty on their engine. It was explained to *** and **** ********* that when using an extended warranty claim, the *** discount cannot be added. They chose to proceed with the extended warranty claim at this time. Once the work was finished, it was explained to *** and **** ********* that if anything went wrong with the work that we performed, there would be no charge to fix it.

On **** ********* 2nd visit, (July 1), she brought the car in for a check engine light that had come on after about a week of having the vehicle. Upon assessing the vehicle using a scan tool it was found that the vehicle was safe to drive and should return later for further inspection. **** ********* then took her vehicle home free of charge and was told to return on July 11th for further investigation.

On this date, July 11, upon further diagnoses with use of scan tools and the automotive smoke machine leak detector, it was found that the gas cap was the cause of the check engine. **** ********* was told that there was no charge for the labor of changing the gas cap, however there was still a charge for the scanning and diagnosis of the issue. With this visit, since there was no warranty claim, we were able to apply the *** discount.

Throughout this process our staff explained thoroughly numerous times what was needed to fix the vehicle and the charges associated with the repairs. When there was an opportunity to include a discount or use a warranty claim, it was honored. It seems that despite our best efforts, there was miscommunication between our staff and *** and **** **********

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

There was never a discussion of the AAA discount until the day I went to pay for the car.  Nothing had been brought up prior to that because we weren't sure how much the extended warranty was going to pay for and how much we were going to have to pay out of pocket.

On the day (July 11th) of the gas cap issue, my husband was told on the phone "there would be no charge"   Not "there would be no charge for the gas cap" or a specific item.  When I spoke to Mr. Meixner on the phone, he offered to credit us the the amount of the scan.  I told him I would speak with my husband and have my husband call him back.  Now when my huband calls him back, he is saying he has already given us enough discounts.  Mr. Meixner did try to reach out to us but I was out of town and have tried to respond.

    Sincerely,

    Tell us why here...August 13, 2022

Meixner Tire & Auto’s policy is to get a customer approval for any work being performed.    Approval consists of cost, work to be performed and parts.
Staff let *** and **** ********* know how much it would cost to diagnose the check engine light and told them that if the check engine light was due to previous work performed at our shop on June 24,2022, that there would be no charge. They agreed and approval was given.
*** Meixner called and talked to *** ********* when he found out about ***  and **** ********* being upset about the cost. *** Meixner explained that the check engine light was not a problem caused by a previous repair and that we used a scan tool and smoke machine to diagnose the vehicle, which was a lot of time that was put into the diagnoses. We did not charge for putting the gas cap on, but we did charge for the testing time that was put in to diagnosing. *** ********* said he understood, and *** Meixner asked if he should explain it to **** ********* and was told no by *** *********. *** discount was used on this repair.

I am rejecting this response because:

Unfortunately, Meixner staff continue to lie.  They never told us how much it would be to run the scan, they never told us it would even cost anything to run a scan, we were only told not to worry about the cost.  My husband didn't talk to Mr. Meixner until all of the work had been done and we were accepting Mr. Meixner's proposal of removing the scanning fee, which he then decided to say he wasn't offering.  While I will agree that they did give the *** discount on the scanning fee, that was the only time a discount was given.  But it was for a fee that we were never told about in the first place.  It is very disappointing how the story continues to be twisted

    Sincerely,
