They promised this would be a full mortgage insurance as in, if I was terminally ill they would pay the $250k for the mortgage. The policy is only worth $75k.Americo Life Inc.

My wife has a life policy with Americo. She recently changed banks and had contacted them, giving them updated payment info and paying the premium. However, this company tried multiple times to get money from the closed account, AFTER being PAID from the new account. They do not respond when contacted and do what they want. She is cancelling and going to another company.Americo Life Inc.

My mother just passed away Friday, March 7th. Our family went forward with the funeral process, and after we left, we were informed that Americo wouldn't pay the policy. Now we are stuck paying out-of-pocket when my parents believed they were shielding us from this grief. They should be ashamed of themselves. Needless to say, we will be canceling our father's policy.Americo Life Inc.

Americo Life Inc, broke our agreement, never heard from them and then I found out they where taking money out of my checking account. Granted I'm glad I found out how horrible this company was before anything tragic happened and before they stole to much money from me. Highly recommend hanging up on this company they will not honor the contract or their word over the phone. You will not even hear a word from them unless you realize you see money coming out of your account and you stop payment on it and then they reach out to you wondering why. This company doesn't give you any prof of Insurance so that if something happens to you no one can collect then they get to keep the money!Americo Life Inc.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with!!! Cancellation and return funds have been floating for 45 days. Called customer service get nothing in assistance but they tell you wait wait wait. I will be deceased by the time my refund comes in. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! Expected a refund from my cancellation by mid-January 2025. As of February 27th I have still not received a refund. I was told by customer service "Oh we mailed it but it was returned to us because someone forgot to put your house number on the street address." Seriously? A first-grader would know better than to send a check through the mail without the proper address. So I said "Since I have been waiting all this time how about an EFT to resolve the matter. Afterall you EFT'd the money when you took payment" Rep said "Im not sure about this let me check with my supervisor. She comes back to the phone and tells me "You should have your EFT refund in 3-5 business day." (This was February the 18th 2025 9 days ago) I asked to speak with a supervisor today Brianna says "We cannot get a supervisor involved except by request which gives them 24-48 hours to call you back. Then follows with "Is this number you are calling from a good number to reach you back?" My! My! My! Ms. Brianna tells me now "A new check was re-issued and MAILED on February 24th so just be patient its coming." I ask you how patient would a reasonable person wait? Typically when a company is this desperate to hold your money they have solvency issues. I would never "trust" this organization to handle an actual claim and I do not believe anyone else should trust them either!Americo Life Inc.

Complete scam. I have been trying to cancel after immediately starting my policy. I filed a claim to cancel a month ago and no one has contacted me regarding it. My bank account is still getting charged. When I log into the online portal I can’t even look at my policy. Anytime I try to call I end up on hold for an hour and a half. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESSAmerico Life Inc.

If I could give 0 stars I would!! A bunch of damn thieves!! 4 years of making payments. Almost $6000.00. Called to cancel my policy and they said I would not be getting a single dime back. It's says they're open from 8am - 5pm, but the automated system kept saying it was closed until I called them again at 9am. It wasn't a holiday or anything. I asked them if they could change my bank account information because I had a new bank account and I didn't want them to use the old one because I was in the process of closing that one. they said okay. So I thought it was over and done with. I needed to extend the payment from the 1st to the 5th. But instead of telling me that it was still going to charge my old account when I was on the phone with them. They let me give them all my new information. And the next day charged me on my old account which sent it into overdraft and I got charged extra for the overdraft fee. My mother picked this insurance company out of a hat and she doesn't really have good judgment honestly. But I definitely never got a good feeling about it and I'm glad that I'm no longer doing business with them. I just feel like there's such a scam anyway.Americo Life Inc.
