On March 7, 2024 I ordered from their website 12 window weep hole covers part number ********** I received the parts Wednesday March 13, 2024. The parts received was beige version of part number ****** The parts are not interchangeable. Part ***** has a flat mounting surface. Part ***** is angled. I used their website contact form to explain the error and included a photo. They quickly shipped 12 of the same parts. When I received them on Monday March 18, 2024, I used their website to request an RMA and provided detailed documentation showing the parts shipped were not what I ordered. In stead of an RMA, I received an email from ********* **** telling me they shipped the correct parts and I did not have to return the original order. I replied on March 20, 2024, that the parts shipped were not what I ordered and that I was aware they had removed part number ********* from their website. Since then they have added part number ********* to their website. That part number was not their before I informed them of the problem on March 18, 2024. It is clear they are fully aware of the problem, that they shipped the wrong parts, and yet refuse to issue and RMA or a full refund.

I bought four basement windows from All About Doors & Windows and the windows are poorly manufactured. All four corners of the windows aren’t sealed and glare/light/draft comes through them. I requested a return and they are now charging me a 25% restocking fee and packaging supplies. Their refund policy states that “we reserve the right to charge a restocking fee” but there is no mention of how much. This 25% restocking fee comes out to be around $369. A 25% restocking fee is unheard of when it isn’t stated/written out in their return policy. Many companies charge a restocking fee and they do mention the amount of their charge. All About Doors & Windows is scamming people. I tried to search for the company’s reviews and couldn’t find any. I also search their social media platforms, but they haven’t been active in more than a year. I need to report this because they aren’t being transparent with their charges. Below is a cut/paste of their return policy: Restocking Fee: We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee on items to account for the additional cost incurred for original shipping and handling. This includes, but is not limited to, basement windows, multipoint locks, window surrounds and items over 6 feet in width or length. We cannot refund item(s) that are*: - Scratched, broken, used, or with missing or replaced parts - Special order, final sale or "non-returnable" as identified on original web listing or by sales representative - Damaged in return shipping process due to lack of proper packaging and padding In order for your purchase to be refunded, item(s) must be: - Received within 30 days of the return authorization approval (details below) - In new, re-sellable condition; proper packaging and padding is responsibility of the customer - In full entirety: all parts, screws, hardware, etc. included. No missing parts. - Shipped with an All About Doors & Windows pre-approved Return Authorization (RA). (Details below.) Thank you, ****** *****

Good Afternoon,We do have a restocking fee in place for large orders, which includes basement windows. We have decided to lower the restocking fee down to 10% to cover the orignal shipping costs and shipping supplies it took to ship the order out to the customer. Below is a link to our full Returns Policy, which the customer must agree to before placing an order on our website. *************************************

      Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
All About Doors and Windows sold me a defective product. I should not be penalized for their error. It’s their responsibility to cover all costs. I should not pay for a restocking fee plus the shipping fee that it’s estimated to be over a hundred dollars per box. I do not want their defective windows and their return policy needs clarity and transparency. They do not specify on their return policy the exact amount of the restocking fee, and they do not state (buyer must pay) for the return fee. They “packaged” the windows they shipped me without verifying its integrity. This to me, is deliberate to still charge a restocking fee and on top of that having me to pay to ship the windows back. No buyer should pay the above charges when the product is defective or poorly manufactured.
      Regards,  ****** *****

Hello,   Since the resolution is rejected by the customer, we have removed the discounted restocking fee and replaced it with our normal, 25% restocking fee. If the customer wishes to return the windows they must be returned in new, reselling condition within 30 days of the delivery date. Best Regards,  All About Doors and Windows

All About Doors and Windows aren’t taking full responsibility for their error. I will not incur additional expenses when it was a mistake on their part.
