I hired him to do a couple of things. I needed him to put insulation in the bay window, hang a clock, secure pagoda to deck, put screws in cabinets in my kitchen. He did not insulate the bay window, he did not secure the pagoda to the deck, nor did he hang a clock. He screwed in 4 screws to the cabinets and he charged me $400.00 dollars. I paid paid him $2400.00 dollars in a check. I had to hire additional workers secure the pagoda to my deck. He is threatening with putting a lien on my house, because I cancelled a check on a guard rail to go in the basement. I cancelled the check because he was yelling at me. He scared me. I would like a refund for the work he did not do right. I would like $1200.00 refunded back to me and for him to leave me alone.

I did work for this client.  She paid me in three payments:  one was a check for $1200; the second payment was for $1200 in cash; the third check was for a separate job--and it was $423.00--for a hand rail.  She cancelled that check.  I have completed work that she hired me to do.  There was additional work that she wanted me to do and I had told her that I had to be out of town.  I needed someone to help me on Monday.  I came back, working an additional day beyond what I had promised and completed the job.   She owes me $423.00 plus the cancelled check fee of $30.
