On January 11th, 2022 I picked up two small cakes from Heaven Scent bakery for my husband’s birthday. The total for two small cakes was $40.43. When it came time to eat the cakes with family, I noticed no one finished eating their piece of cake. I mentioned something and each member of my family said the cakes tasted bad. I tried a fork bite of each and agreed. My husband returned the cakes to the bakery immediately after and the employee told him they would have the owner call me. Later that evening one of the owner’s did call me and we talked amicably about the cakes and she said she would mail me a refund check. After a couple of weeks with no response or refund check, I called on two separate occasions and left messages for the owners that I was still waiting for my refund. On 02/17/2022 I received a check in the mail for the amount of $39.83. The total amount I paid for the cake purchase was $40.43. I have left two messages with employees that I wanted the entire amount I paid for the cakes and there has been no response. The difference in the amount I paid and the amount I received is $.60 cents While that is not a large amount the point is that I wanted a refund for the amount I paid for the cakes. The cakes were returned and they had my full payment. The owners of the bakery are ignoring my request for the entire amount I paid for the cakes. I don’t have a receipt for the cakes as they kept it during the return, and it was a credit card receipt anyways, as opposed to a receipt that shows a breakdown of what was being purchased. I included a copy of the amount I paid from my checking account using a debit card and a copy of the check I receive with the wrong amount given from Heaven Scent bakery.
