Pattern of Complaint:

Better Business Bureau is advising consumers to use caution when considering doing business with Consumer Law Protection.  BBB has received a pattern of consumer complaints alleging failure to honor a contract or agreement, failure to cancel contracts, failure to contact consumers, misleading sales presentation and poor customer service.

On September 25, 2020, BBB sent a letter to Consumer Law Protection with its concerns.  The company responded on October 6, 2020 stating, “We are unaware of a “pattern of complaints” as you stated. Should a complaint be forwarded to you we will respond appropriately and process those concerns with the customer and work to find common ground with them and resolve the issue.”

Consumer Law Protection has not informed BBB how it intends to address the pattern of complaints.

On January 21, 2021, BBB issued a press release for Consumer Law Protection. The link to this release is provided:

On January 21, 2021 Consumer Law Protection was paid $10,275.00 by me (************************* to end my timeshare contract with ****************************** at **********. I was promised a two year time frame per my contract for the time share issues to be resolved. If Consumer Law Protection was unable to exit the timeshare contract for me, they guaranteed that they would give me a complete and full refund. For the first 2 years I would call Consumer Law Protection and they would give different excuses why the case was taking so long. After two years of no action, I called and requested my refund on April 3, 2023. I was told that my request would have to be reviewed and they would contact me about the refund. However, they never contacted me. I called Consumer Law Protection again on May 1, 2023 and spoke to **** and she said that my request was still under review. I called Consumer Law Protection again on May 17, 2023 and I got a recording that gave an email ********************************* to request my refund. When I tried to email them, the email address does not exist. Consumer Law Protection has stolen my hard earned money and I am not able to communicate with them to get my complete refund. It has been over three years since I signed the contract, trusting this company that appeared to be honorable. Please help me get a complete and full refund from Consumer Law Protection.

On 3/31/2022, at Timeshare Help Source (THS) presentation at the ****************** in ************ my husband ***************************** and I entered into contract with Timeshare Help Source to exit (terminate) us out of our timeshare ownership at *************************** located in **************** at ******************************* Stateline, **, *****. The Service Agreement: Money Back Guarantee states: THS Guarantees our Service - we will get you out of your timeshare or we will give you a complete & full refund - without set offs or deductions for any expenses incurred in the process of attempting to eliminate said Owners Timeshare Interest. Terms and Conditions: While many terminations are complete within 3 to 6 months, some may take as long as 24 months. Cost of the Contract was $7995.00 which we paid in-full via ***************** Advantage MasterCard ending in 1308 at contract signing 3/31/2022. From 3/31/2022 to 8/26/2024 THS strung us along with contract status always being in process and an update would follow. I made many phone calls where I would get no answer, other calls would be answered and I would always be told they did not yet have any updates. I sent text messages to the sales person, *********************, who processed the contract which went unanswered. I also attempted to locate a new phone number for him, and left a message which also went unanswered. We have continued to pay our quarterly maintenance fees to the resort and the account is in good standing, however, the exit process has not been completed, and this companys claims are totally false. As of todays date, THS is now nowhere to be found, and they still have our money. "Exit Your Timeshare Forever. Guaranteed, is their printed slogan. My last request for status/update via email to THS, was dated 8/26/2024 - and now the phone number we have indicates it is no longer in service. We have been unable to reach them by phone, email, or website, and we realized we had been scammed! Please help us get our $7,995.00 back.

On 09/23/2021 I entered into a contract to get rid of my timeshare "Peacock Suites" and paid $5249.00. Thew contract guaranteed they would get rid of the timeshare or my money back. They alsostated it would take 24 months from the date they received all pertinent documentation. In this case all documentation was sent and accepted in November 2021. When I called to fin d out the status of my case, I discovered that the business does not exist any longer. The telephones have been disconnected and the timeshare specialist is nowhere to be found. His name is ******************* and his Cell numb er is **************, which is also disconnected. I found out this person has scammed many people and this guy needs to be stopped. Apparently he is still doing this under other company names.

In July 2014 we agreed to have Consumer Law Protection sell our time shares. The contract stated that if they didn't sell them we would get a refund after 2 years expired. We have not received a refund and cannot contact them/hear anything from them about our refund. They seem to be an very unscrupulous business working out of your state.

We were invited to a meeting in ****** NY to discuss having our time share maintenance fees eliminated. After listening to their promises, we signed a contract and paid $7329.06 with an agreement that they would finalize this within 24 months or refund our payment. We have attempted many times to contact the company via phone and email. No reply. They seem to have disappeared. Please assist with finding them.

This business solicited us and other folks that had bought timeshare property; they stated the law had been changed and ultimately they promised to terminate out timeshare ownership. We filled-out a Timeshare Worksheet with information about our timeshare ownership, signed a Timeshare Termination Agreement, and paid them a sum of $14,248.53 to complete this task. This was completed back on 9/2/2020. At the time they had asked us if we were current on our annual maintenance fees, which we hadn't paid for 2020, and they told us not to pay. We called them a number of times during 2021 and were told they were working on it. At one point they told us they were within a couple of weeks of completing the transaction. We got busy with other things and stopped calling them and forgot about it. Earlier this year we received a foreclosure notice from our timeshare resort. I attempted to call Consumer Law Protection and got no response. I called a cell number and left a message, and later received a text with the phone numbers for 2 other gentlemen associated with the firm; I left messages on their phones and got no response back. We paid our outstanding maintenance fees with ran over $6,000 to get caught-up to this year. I drafted a letter to Consumer Law Protection in ******, ** and sent it via certified mail with return receipt requested, and after a few weeks it was returned to me unopened. Issue they took our money and promised to provide a service to terminate our timeshare property, but no service was provided. The Timeshare Termination Agreement has a statement concerning "MONEY BACK GUARANTEE." I either want our timeshare ownership terminated, or I want my money back.

I signed a Timeshare Termination Agreement on 10/1/20 with the above group working with ********************** LLC. They promised they would be able to get me out of the contract or will refund the money I paid them. I liked my timeshare and was only trying to get out of the last contract that I was tricked me into signing, $40K. I wanted to keep the balance of my timeshare. My liaison was *************************** who was wonderful until she got sick ( I do have her email and phone number). The man she was representing (*************************) left the company also and I was reassigned. When over a year went by with no action I started calling more often. I kept checking with ******* while she was there, after she left she continued to help me, and up until this last Thanksgiving it hit the three year ***** They were not responding to calls so I sent a formal request in a letter on 2/7/24 which finally generated a call back and I was told that I do not qualify because I did not keep up the fees. I pointed out that they never requested any maintenance payment once they were notified about the lawsuit. I was told it did not matter, I was required to keep up all payments. I told them the only payments they wanted was the $40K and would not give me a bill for maintenance until I paid the $40K. When I finally figured out the only thing I could do was *** them, I gave up. Then about a month ago, I heard something on one of the news shows that encouraged people to complain about those listed with BBB to give others an idea of what they might face so I decided to try and see what happens.
