In November of 2023, I asked Hackmann Lawn & Landscape for an estimate to remove all of the leaves from my property. I had used Hackmann for lawn mowing services the entire summer and in most instances I had been satisfied with their service. Because they were very familiar with my property, I believed the attached estimate they gave me. The estimate explains what will be done and ends with a last line that says, "Total Due: $135.00".They performed the service on a wet day and made a mess of one of the house walls, blowing muddy dirt on it. This isn't what I am writing about. While I will have to power wash the wall, I put this under the category "stuff happens."What I am writing about is Invoice # ***** (copy attached) that I received after services were rendered. The invoice was for 75% more than the estimate. When I contacted the business about the discrepancy, I was told the invoice was correct and that I didn't understand estimates. They claimed an estimate was more an explanation of how they would calculate an invoice and not an actual estimate of the final invoice. The estimate says "Total Due $135.00", I was billed $235.00. I have been a CPA/accountant for ****************************************************************************************************************************************************** this case there were no unforeseen circumstances given the company had been to my property numerous time in the months leading up to the service date. This mirrors a bait and switch type of attitude. I continue to receive invoices for the full amount along with "late fees". I believe I only owe $135.00 Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated. Copies of the estimate and the invoice are included with this claim.
