I placed an online order on Jan 12 for bike grips for the amount of $34.90. A shipping label was created on Jan 15. Nothing has happened since then. I have not received my order and it hasn't even shipped yet. I have called the business several times and always there is a message to leave a voice mail or text them. No one ever answers the phone and the voice mailbox is always full. I have texted them 6 times and not gotten a response from the company. On the Jan 3 I purchased a tool kit to repair a bicycle. I found Take a Hike Shop online and they had a sale. I made an order and received an order confirmation. That is the last that I heard from them. The voicemail is full, I tried emailing them and using their chat line, no response. They said it was a 2-9 day shipping window. No communication with them. I looked online at the BBB website and you have many complaints against them. Well basically they are scammers. People order stuff and they never ship stuff. On 8/16/2022 I placed an order (Order# *****) on TakeAHikeShop.com for a Park Tool Chain Checker (CC-2). On 8/18/2022 the transaction for $34.90 cleared my bank account and on 9/13/2022 I received a shipment confirmation email from the merchant. I still have not received the item and the **** website shows that the item is "not trackable." I have attempted to contact the merchant via phone, text, email, and their website-based chat function and have been unable to reach anyone through any of those means to resolve this issue.Initial Complaint

I ordered a Garmin speed and cadence sensor (order # *****) from TakeAHikeShop.com on 12-29-2022. TakeAHikeShop.com printed a **** shipping label on 12-29-2022. After tracking the package on the **** website, I found that the order had not been picked by **** for over a week. I have repeatedly tried to contact this business by phone (mailbox full), text (businesses preferred method) and e-mail. On 1-6-2023 I e-mailed TakeAHikeShope.com for a full refund to my credit card by the end of business on 1-6-2023. As of 1-7-2023 no refund has appeared on my credit card statement. I'm filing this complaint because of approximately 20 complaints that have been filed in the past that seem to follow the same pattern.Initial Complaint

I had purchased a set of manitou markhor **** mountain bike forks on July 25 2022 order number ***** for a total purchase price of $274.58 from takeahikeshop.com , I have repeatedly called with no answer , unable to leave a message due to full voicemail box , I have texted their text line numerous times , no answer , emailed , no answer , I had even payed an extra $10.58 for a 2 day shipping , it has now been 5 months and I have received nothing I have disputed it with my credit card and they disputed that and had won , I had asked them in email to send it or send me a refund and Ive heard nothing and received neither at this point I purchased the item from another store and just wish for a full refundInitial Complaint

On 9/20/2022 confirmation of an order was provided by TakeaHikeshop.com for a $88.00 item. Payment was rendered immediately. After waiting the declared shipping period (2-9 days) attempted to contact retailer using their provided methods. No response was provides for Takeahikeshop nor were calls answered or returned. No shipping confirmation has been provided nor product delivered. This seems to be the continued case with this retailer. As of 11/07/2022 it appears they have begun a "Thanksgiving" promotion so site appears actively maintained. This site appears to be a fraudulent retailer. I ordered some bicycle parts from Take A Hike Shop online. I paid for expedited shipping. They confirmed the order, created a shipping label with *** tracking, but never scheduled a pick-up with them. Twelve days later, with repeated failed attempts to contact them, there is still no product on the way. They do not answer their phone, their voice mailbox is full, they do not answer their texts, nor do the answer their website live chats. After searching the internet for answers and resolutions, I discovered that this company has done this to countless other customers as well. I dropped my NS Bikes Zircus dirt jumper bike off at Take A Hike Shop in early July, along with a ************** Expert Suspension Fork and an NS ********* slick hub. *** (the owner) promised to install the suspension fork and hub, in addition to adding a new front wheel and spokes. We communicated that we would like the bike back around the end of July or August 8th at the latest. The bike in addition to all the parts we left with *** total to about $2000. After dropping off our bike for this work to be done, we never heard from *** again. We have called him numerous times, and reached out on social media and other venues. We have driven to the shop numerous times, only to find it completely closed. There is usually another person outside the shop also wondering why it isn't open and complaining that they have called many times with no response either. At this point, I just want my son's bike back. I don't even care if the work was never done. The bike and the parts we left amount to about $2000, and I just want my items back so I can take them somewhere reliable to have my bike work done. I can provide receipts for all the parts I have purchased if that is helpful evidence.Customer Answer

Hello,I'm reaching out to report that I heard back from **** at Take a Hike shop. He brought me my bike Saturday evening. He is committed to doing the work that he originally agreed to do, but we'll see if that happens. Either way, my bike was returned to me, which was the most important matter and point of concern.
