********* Supplier Complaint to BBB I believe we were taken advantage of by the chief administrator and over-zealous presenter of The Assistance Home Care Service in March 2024. We were expected to pay over $11,000 for unsupervised and often unnecessary home care workers occupying our home. The time of signing for 24/7 home care was quite stressful. I was just out of emergency heart surgery and certainly not mentally nor emotionally prepared to make a decision, especially with the shock of my wifes heart failure (2/22/2024) and start of hospice care. The need for 24/7 private care was urged as necessary. I should have expected a program of care to coincide with the *** hospice teams care. However, no specific plan or following administrative support was provided. Just a continual parade of different caretaker personnel who had no disciplined approach. After a week need for oxygen and catheter ceased. My wife was using the bathroom with my limited assistance. Night caretakers were no longer necessary. They just camped out providing little or no help. The caretakers had their own ways of doing things and reorganized supplies, confusing everything. I cancelled all the company's service the week of March 11. But it didnt change the invoices. My bank statement revealed they already had charged and received full payment on the over $11,000 amount. I suggested that management review the problems and reconsider their charges. I was willing to pay for early involvement but not for the total, which was not justified. Again, I firmly believe I was taken advantage of when not in shape emotionally and mentally to accept the commitment. The ** of Operations did agree to reduce charges by $2000, and promised a check to reimburse that amount. But of course they backed out of the offer and refused further consideration. No "assistance" at all. Bad service. Bad timing. Bad choice.
