We were never aware of a ************* system in the vehicle, the vehicle was purchased well over 6 months ago, the issues the vehicle currently has was not due to any of our doing. The vehicle was sold as-is with safety and emissions inspection at the time of purchase, we are not responsible for any future repairs or damages.Initial Complaint

On 4-17-23 we purchased a 2011 Audi A4 from Gateway Autoplex. The car was sold to ** by ***********************. We purchased this car for $8995 and purchased an additional warranty for $987.77 to cover any issues. We have had the car 35 days and driven it **** miles when it broke down. We took the car to a warranty covered shop. The mechanic called with a list of issues with the car. They are as follows:1. The engine has an internal noise 2. There are misfires on all the cylinders (6)3. There has been an engine replacement or major engine work that we were not notified of 4. There are oil leaks of an unknown origin 5. There is blue smoke 6. The oil light is coming on 7. The check engine light is coming on and flashing 8. Low oil pressure which indicates a major internal issue The car passed inspections on the morning of 4-17-23. This is not possible with all of these mechanical issues. the misfires alone should have caused a failure of emissions. The inspection then are false. As far as the "warranty", it does not cover pre existing conditions, it does not cover wear and tear, essentially it covers nothing. We contacted ************** and explained the problems and he made no effort or attempt to solve the issue. We spent ****** in his store and he is washing his hands of the whole situation. My daughter is 18 years old and he blatantly took advantage of her. The money was hers and was a cash transaction. She needs justice. This has caused her extreme emotional distress and a distrust of humanity.Business Response

I purchased a used 2011 *** 750 on Dec. 12, 2022. I experienced an oil leak and was burning oil and the brake pads were real low. It ended up the vehicle had a valve cover gasket issue and a turbo cooler issue. I returned the car on Jan. 20, 2023 at their dealership. I picked up the car on Jan. 24, 2023. I took the car to get registered and found out that they signed in the wrong place. They gave me the title pass the 30 days required. Then on Feb. 21st, the check engine light came on. Up to today, Auto Haus *** is reporting that the car has **************** issues. I feel that I was misled. They never inspected the vehicle before it was sold to the consumer. It was also discovered there was a broken belt of both front tires of the car. I had to replace the 2 front tires. Also, the key fob became inoperable and had to be replaced. I would like a refund or reimbursed for the major repairs done.Initial Complaint

I purchased a car from this company. It came with a 3 month power training warranty. The paperwork did not include the full warranty contract. 20 days after purchase the engine blew up and needs to be replaced. I contacted company and they said the warranty will replace engine. The warranty only covers $3000 of cost. That was not included in paperwork. The repair is $7000. The warranty will not except responsibility because it was a preexisting condition. They sold me a faulty car that didn't even last 30 days and claim no responsibility because they included a warranty that is worthlessBusiness Response

We sold the vehicle as is through the dealership. We included a 90 day powertrain warranty on the vehicle that we paid for the customer. Powertrain warranty was through a third party warranty. If the vehicle had those issue at the the time of sale I am pretty sure they would not have purchased the vehicle and there nothing further that we can do.Customer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: The warranty is worthless. The will not cover the repairs and is costing me an additional $4500. Since the dealership purchased and provided a useless warranty then they should be responsible for repairs.
Sincerely,

Bought my ****** ********* around August 18. They informed me they did not have time to do the emissions, testing and I was to bring it back in. I had an appointment which was canceled and then the next appointment was September 1. My check engine light had come on by then and they told me to bring it to ****s automotive. They believed it was an E vac system. ****s automotive put a new gas cap on and change the oil. However, the car engine blew on ****s parking lot when I went to pick it up. It also still had not passed emissions testing. At this point the dealership still refused to refund my money or give me a replacement car and forced me to pay for the replacement engine. They retrieved the car from the engine repair place at the end of October. It is now the end of November, and it still has not passed emissions testing. They have had my car in their possession or at one of their mechanic places since September 1. . I have had to make payments on this car and I have had to pay for an engine and a car that still has not passed the required state inspections. Every time I call, they say the car will be ready that day. My mother has attempted to help me. They refused to even call her back anymore at the dealership. They also took it back to the place that they claimed blew the engine both the dealership and **** automotive have continually lied to us about the status of this car . In the *****************, I believe there is a lemon law, which requires them to fix this car and all state inspections be pass within 30 days however, they tell me thats not the truth that they can sell a car without a passing safety and emissions. That they do it all the time and that theyre attempting to fix it however, I still do not have a car and Im out $8000.Initial Complaint

Feburary 25th I purchased a 2008 Red Jeep Liberty from Gateway Autoplex. They told me nothing was wrong with the vehicle and that everything was okay with the title. I have had to have two tires replaced, Ac unit fixed, windshield wiper fixed, window fixed, horn fixed, tire sensors fixed, bolt loosed fixed, all since feburary. I also was yelled and cursed at by car dealers ****** and ******** after asking them if I could trade it for a better vehicle since so much was wrong. They told me they did not hold a gun to my head and make me buy it and to get out because they honestly dont care about the customer its just business. I go to register my vehicle after the plates expired and I was told I was unable to because the title was still an Indiana title and wasnt done properly before they sold me the vehicle. So I am unable to register or get my new plates at all. GATEWAY told me to contact the dealership they got it from in Indiana and ask for a duplicate. ****** specifically told me this. They were confused on why he had me call myself and said he had to make things right because there was nothing they could do since they bought it from them. He promised to get me a duplicate title. Two weeks later, I go to pick up the "paperwork that was needed to register" and it was literally paper copies of the same ect paperwork and title work which was still an Indiana title. I wrote a complaint to the gateway website and got a call from ****** trying to belittle and go off on me and I hung up. I now am speaking with a civil law office trying to obtain an attorney. I am complaining to everyone. It is now september and I still am unable to register, now have court for driving when I had to pick up medicine for my daughter, am unable to work because I instacart shop, and am stuck at home and unable to drive to school for college and have to now do distance learning because I cant legally drive right now. I recently even gave up my expensive insurance because why am I paying?
