1 starI rented a vehicle in December 2024. The pick up was going to be April 2025 and were gonna have the vehicle for nine days. Our travel plans had to change and we were shortening our trip by three days on the front end. I called two different numbers for Alamo to see about moving the vehicle pick up time back by three days. Each time they went into it and told me the vehicle was not available and I would have to get a different vehicle. I tried to explain to them that the vehicle was already rented to me and all I was doing was moving the pick up time back a few days. Therefore it was available under my name and they just needed to change the pick up time. I asked if I just need to cancel the reservation and start the process over because their computer system cant handle a date change. And I was told no because the vehicle was not available during that time. So either they didnt have the vehicle that was supposed to be written to me and I wouldnt have received that vehicle when I went to pick it up or they just dont understand how to change any part of your reservation. Very upset about the situation, even asked for a supervisor or a manager, and I was told that they would not be able to help me with that. I canceled my reservation and Ill be using my money with another company. Very very dissatisfied with this company.Review fromJoe D

1 starI reserved a car at the *************************************** location, we'll ahead of time, to go visit my 94 year-old ailing father in *******, **. I have been renting from Alamo since over 30 years ago, and have rented in many of its locations both, nationwide and some international. I never had an issue, that is, until yesterday morning when I showed up to pick up the car. With my "skip the counter" ticket on my phone, like usual, I proceeded to the "full size" section of the lot. There was no attendant on the lot, so I looked at the car's from one end to the other of this section, and I chose a white suit at the end of it. I then drove to the booth and presented my card and DL, as requested. There was an issue. The charge for the car did not match the price on my reservation. So, the attendant said it be because of the p/u time., as I was about 3 hrs. early. I asked him to just change the return to reflect the time I was picking up at. He did and the price came down to $347 and chamge. Still, it did not match the $266 and change I had on my reservation. The assistant manager was called to assist. The most rude and obnoxious woman showed up and said that I was taking a "luxury" car and that was the reason. I informed her that I got the car from the full size section, and that it being a family -type suv, I didn't think there was anything wrong. I showed her the picture I took of the car in it's spot, and where it clearly sated "full size" section. She was not accepting my explanation and told me to drive the car back to it's space. I did. I then showed her again, where it said "full size" right where the car was. She kept insisting that it was a "luxury" car. I also explained to her that in *******, my home-base rental place, they place pick/ups, vans and even Mustangs, and people can take them, without an issue. She said: Well, this is not Otlando!" "And you're not getting a car at all today!"What? Totally unacceptable! And they charged my card!Review fromDouglas R

1 starWe reserved a "skip the counter" car since we needed to reach our destination quickly. However, you have to check in to use the skip-the-line feature. We tried several times to do this before the trip with no success. I called Alamo twice, and they informed us that our reservation did not allow early check-in, likely due to a payment with Expedia. We booked a ****** Maxima or similar. Since we couldn't skip the line, we ended up with an **** A3, which is smaller and less premium than the Maxima. I should have rejected the car, but we needed to get to our stop quickly. When driving into the sunlight the following day, we noticed the windshield was filthy; it looked like the previous renters were smokers or the glass hadn't been cleaned in weeks. A filthy windshield significantly affected our visibility, making it a safety concern.Furthermore, numerous water spots on the side mirrors made them unusable to see anything, posing a 2nd serious safety hazard. We were scheduled to return the car at 5 PM at the airport at the end of our trip but my wife caught COVID during our trip. She fell asleep at a relative's home and I didn't want to wake her to return the car, so I let her sleep. In previous rentals, we returned vehicles early and late without issues. After dropping my wife off at the hotel, checking her in, and getting her to the room, I arrived at Alamo a few hours late, only to find no staff at the Alamo area. I waited for a *** to explain our delay but couldn't find anyone. Security drove past me and asked what I was doing like I was a criminal, and when I told her, she said just to leave the car.I was shocked to see a late fee of $124.85 charged to our account. I was a few hours behind schedule, but my best guess is that they didn't check our car in until the morning. This fee seemed excessive for just a few hours late, leaving us feeling unfairly treated, considering what a mess the vehicle was. Overall, this was not a good experience with Alamo.Review fromMa C

1 starI am incredibly disappointed and frustrated with the service I received at the Alamo location at *************************************. As someone who has rented from this location multiple times without issues, I was shocked by the inconsistent, unprofessional, and discriminatory treatment I encountered this time.I attempted to rent a car using the same type of card Ive used with Alamo for years, but I was told it wasnt accepted because it was a debit card and required a return flight reservation. After showing my confirmed return flight, the requirement was suddenly changed, and I was told I had to use a credit card instead, with high fees attachedeven though I only needed the car for a single day. The shifting policies felt arbitrary and designed to make renting as inconvenient as possible. When I spoke with the assistant manager, ******* *****, she claimed these rules had been in place for years, which is simply not true based on my rental history. I was given the contact information for the branch manager, ********* *****, who was on-site but chose not to speak with me, leaving me to navigate this frustrating situation on my own.The most troubling part? I am aware of also non-Black customers entering and did not experience any of these obstacles. The inconsistency and lack of transparency in service left me feeling singled out and discriminated against. I am a professional and a long-standing customer, and I have never been treated so poorly by any car rental company.I urge Alamo to address these issues at this location and ensure fair, equal treatment for all customers. Until they do, I cannot in good faith recommend this location.Review fromJoe B

1 starI rented from Alamo on 7-20-24 for PU in Indpls. on 8-26-24 I paid #***.94 in advance based on estimated cost. I returned a little early & had an issue with the car ,the attendant agreed to take off $50 & with the reduced cost I am due $81.16 based on inv.#. In the past 30 days I have called 7 times to try to get this resolved & there is always an excuse. ******** ****** ,**** ,****** ,*********, ***** ********* & Theri all had the same basic response, computer glitch, but assured me that I would be contacted soon. I was even given a case # , but was never contacted by any **** from Alamo. I was even given a # to call their credit card **************** which was a waste of my time again. We have recently retired & plan on traveling often but will Never rent from Alamo again. It appears after over 30 days , Alamo has no intentions of refunding me the $81.16 , I will write that off & not rent form Alamo in the future. Regards case# (probably bogus like the other things I was told)Review fromStuart S

1 starI will never rent a car from ********************* or Alamo. National / Enterprise also own Alamo. My relatives from Australia prearranged for a rental from Alamo / *********************, and to ******** with many stops along the way. The car was uncomfortable and dangerous to drive because of a delay in the acceleration. In ********, we called Alamo hoping to exchange the car, which we could do in ************, *****, or *******. After 3 days and about 2 phone calls, we gave up. First, it was difficult to find the right person to talk to. Second, we were transferred from **************** to Roadside Assistance back to **************** back to Roadside Assistance, and so on. While customer service was able to find their contract, Roadside Assistance was not. We were unable to talk directly to *****, ************ or *******. We were finally told to drive to ************ (an hour away) to pick up an exchange only to be told when we arrived that they had no cars, and we should not have been given that advice. This is no way to run a business.Review fromvince p

1 starI just rented a car from Alamo in ************** and they are charging me ****** Euros for a tire that I drove the whole trip with. They said it's dangerous because it has a slight bulge. I didn't notice it when I picked up the car or when I dropped it off. The people in ******* are so nice and honest except the woman manager at the Alamo airport location.Review fromDeshia D

1 starNightmare experience renting car! I have reached out to express my frustration. When I arrived at the Alamo rental car center at the *********************************, they only had a total of four cars, yes, four cars and about ten customers waiting! First, nightmare.. Second the car that I rented had a Transmission link, and I was struck on the side of road, wait time for a tow truck was 2 hours! Then I had get a ride to go back the Airport and get another car they had two to come in. The one that I received was a nightmare car, it look like it had been in a accident! Alamo really needs to do a better job overall! This was a nightmare experience.Review fromShawn H

1 starThey will give you cars when theres issues theres always oil changes that need to be done that they dont cracked and they wont give you any kind of refund for the inconvenience. Ive had one car that was low on coolant and again they do not give you any kind of refund or anything. I called customer service to complain. They stated that a manager will call me back. No one calls you back. You can wait weeks and no ones ever going to call you. They promise you certain amount of money as a refund and they will not pay you. So youre stuck with so many issues with it and they dont take care of customers, but they will have no problem grabbing all your money. Ive spoke to customer multiple times. They are rude. They dont take care of anything and again Ive spoke to different multiple customer service representatives. They said theyre going to send a message in a manager call the next day But they never do. Its all a show. There are so many car rental places that actually care about their customers other than ********************
