      I am filing this complaint on behalf of my mother who's name is stated on the contract. My mother went into contract with the Ambassador for the repast of my father on 11/30/22. The date of the event was 12/17/22. Upon arrival on the day of the repast they were just finishing cleaning the room we were renting. They had not thoroughly vacuumed the floor, there was a residue left on some of the table linens & there were several balloons left behind on the stage of the room. As the food service workers were setting up the food they noticed roaches crawling along the wall & up the wall. When this was brought to the owners attention he stated, "that he had someone come out to spray, but if he did something right then it would alarm the guest that had already arrived." The ceiling was leaking onto the dance floor area one of the younger guest had slipped and fell but he was not hurt so we did not file an incident report but we did let the facility know what happened. My mother paid an extra $100.00 for a bar not to be set up but a bar was set up anyway. Upon speaking to the bar attendant to ask for it to be removed the bar attendant became confrontational. After asking 3 times to speak with the owner the bar was finally removed. We contacted ******* at the Ambassador on 12/20/22 & filed a formal complaint of all the above stated issues. We asked her for a resolve as of today 12/22/22. We have not heard anything from her or the owner. We are filing this complaint to get a resolution of a refund of at least half of the price charged which would be $480.95. We are also filing this complaint to make other people aware that this facility is not up to par for use.

      Dear Sirs:

      I am responding to *** ** ************ ******* ***** vs: The Ambassador

      Ms. ***** has a lot of complaints: Firstly, the Ambassador was late: I argue we were not late, they came in before their scheduled time (1300hrs exhibit 1 on the contract is access). 1pm to 2pm is free time so they can get set up. Exhibit 2 is arrival time the ar/dp time is 4 hrs. the 1hr access time is gratis.

      Complaint 2: She specks of something was on the table linen and balloons were on the

      Stage. I argue, there were balloons on the stage to keep kids from running and jumping off

      the sage and they are decorative. The 25 ft string of balloons were up stage, it may have

      take up 2 to 3 feet and 5 to 6 feet was available downstage for her pictures and easels were

      available. I did not see anything on the tables. I was personally in the room helping their DJ

      with the music and the mixer for ten minutes. I am sorry but if something was on the cloths

      no one said anything, we could get some more from the laundry room.

      Complaint 3: Regarding the roaches: I went in the room to get the roach or roaches I never

      saw one. Yes, there was an exterminator out in October. I also had one come out on the 20th

      of December and I personally went along the wall with a torch fire, which will bring them

      out. I did not see any.

      Complaint 4: A child slipped, I am very sorry; and glad he/she was not hurt. But Ms. *****

      Stated that she did not report the incident because the child was running and was not hurt.

      There are signs warning of kids unattended and running throughout the facility. Some of the

      children were running; they knocked the snowman in the hall down. They hit the fan and I

      could not get it back inflated.

      Complaint 5: There was the bar set up which should not have been.

      Answer: the bartender cannot remove the bar or leave the bar unattended. It takes a manager or me to change that, the contract must be checked. When it was, we removed it. It did not say no bar on the kitchen order form. I am sorry It took so long, but I was in the kitchen warming up their food. Which was not mentioned, and this was done as a courtesy. Deleted: when the food was brought in, I saw the foil was coming off some of the food. Also, there were no warmers or Cambro’s, so the food transported in the food temperature danger zone. When they asked to have their food taken and warmed up. It was close to room temperature and a liquid blue substance was on the foil and in some of the food; as a caterer I thought it to be ethanol. A form of denatured alcohol with a poisonous additive in sterno canned heat used for chaffing dishes. Before I could warm the food up, which was 50 to 55 DegF. I had to scrape off the top layer of some potatoes, white pasta, and green beans and put some new foil on it. I tested it and it tasted like foil when I took it back out to the food line. I asked what the blue substance was discretely, a man came over and said it was a magic marker. I said, are you sure? He showed me where it was smeared, whatever it was it should not have been in the food. No food is light blue like that. I know Ms. ***** did not see it, but it was in there and I got it out. Whatever was In the food is worst than a bug on the wall. They are both bad. I have been in business for over 40 years and never had this many complaints on 1 event.

      BBB, I don’t know what you are; a mediator or arbitrator but, I am not going to allow anyone to yell at me like a D.I. I am not a child. I will not allow anyone to threaten or try to extort the business. OUR MOTTO HAS ALWAYS BEEN PROVIDE A GOOD PRODUCT AND SEVICE ON TIME AT A FAIR PRICE. We have been in business since 1980, I must say very few people have left dissatisfied.

      We have always tried to make sure each event goes off as good as we can.

      I am rejecting this response because: Mr. ***** is not telling the truth. 1. We arrived at the time we were supposed to. 2. The child that slipped and fell was not running he was walking across what they considered to be a dance floor that was wet from the ceiling leaking & there was no wet floor sign. 3. The children attending the repast which were few were all adult attended they were not old enough to be out of the room by themselves.  There were 2 other events going on so as far as damaging their snowman or any other decorations that is not true. 4. Any food we brought in was covered with nothing leaking from the foil. I am uncertain if the food coordinator asked them to warm up anything. 5. There were roaches crawling in the room along and up the wall. Mr. ***** did not bring in a torch or anything of the sorts to help get rid of the situation he said "if I bring out anything to try to exterminate at this time it might freak out the guest who are here." 6. There was no space on the stage due to balloons left from a prior event. Also there was some type of decoration residue left on a few of the table linens. I will also say this when you have lost a loved one there's a lot that goes on the day of the funeral and this is why some of the things were addressed after the fact. Mr. ***** told me that " if I didn't like what was going on I could have packed up and left." I asked him how could I pack up almost 200 ppl and leave to go somewhere else during a time such as that a repast. This is why my voice may have gotten a little elevated during one of our conversations but he also raised his voice at me. Noone has threatened his business we just asked him to be fair or we would file a complaint as well as give him a low rating on his site and that is our right.  I would just like him to resolve this. He said he would provide a $200 refund in our conversation on December 30, 2022 which is less than requested.  Our initial conversation was on December 20, 2022 in which O asked for a resolution within 2 business days and we he did not respond I contacted you all. So when I spoke with him on December 30, 2022 and stated it had been 10 days with no resolution  he stated he had just gotten the chance to look over all of my complaints. As stated before the amount he is stating he will provide is unfair to me but I am willing to take something over nothing and I'm asking that he make good on that in the least.

      I purchased tickets for an event at this venue for June 19th. I also purchased ticket insurance. Circumstances beyond my control made it impossible for me to get back to St. Louis in time for the event that Sunday evening. I called the event space and let them know. They would not refund the ticket price or exchange the tickets for another event. I continue to get the runaround. I paid $97.70 which included the cost of the insurance.

      We did not deny him and we never heard he had an issue. He did have insurance for the tickets. He had a concert he was not able to make. I explained to him to go through BookingProtect.com. He will need to contact this company to obtain a refund.

      Mr. ***** is not happy at their response.  We cannot find an American phone number for the protection insurance company and he does not work a computer at all, so he can not fill out the application online.
