      **************** refused to cancel items not shipped. Hung up on, asked for manager. 3rd time this experience. Am deployed status, delayed items arrive after I leave *** address. Soft Surroundings has POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE Assistance. I have called, been hung up on when I asked for a manager. ** will not seem to cancel items delayed & not shipped. I am NOT ordering from them. They will hold entire order if 1 item is in back order for months and they do not notify customer of complete order held up for 1 item. I WILL NOT BE at my TDY deployment address in 6+ weeks when customer service says sorry that's when full order ships and THEY REFUSE TO CANCEL THE ORDER. THEY HAVE ALREADY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD. I warn others DO NOT ORDER FROM SOFT SURROUNDINGS. OT IS A FIASCO TO BEG THEM TO CANCEL OR SHIP ITEMS ON HOLD FOR 1 BACK ORDERED ITEM. THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE WHEN A SIMPLE LOGICAL REQUEST IS MADE FROM A RESULT OF SOFT SURROUNDINGS REFUSAL TO ASSIST DUE TO SS HOLDING AN ORDER, NOT TELLING CUSTOMER. BEWARE OF **********************

      BEWARE So sad, have been a long time customer, will not purchase ever again. Bought an item, changed my mind within an hour called to cancel. Was told pending and could do nothing about it, call next day. Was pending charge on my account, called to cancel again told it was in shipping could not cancel.Actually, not sure of status at this time communication extremely difficult.Notified Bank to refuse. ****** learned.

      I placed an order with Soft Surroundings in August, after the brick and mortar store in my neighborhood closed. The clothes did not fit so I tried to return them. I was told only one qualified, and I would have to pay for shipping, and the others did not qualify for return. I never bought anything from Soft Surroundings again. Somehow I didn't notice on my credit card until April that the company had enrolled me in its ****** rewards program and charged $18 a month. I called and they claimed I'd signed up for this program, which covers "free" shipping. I guarantee that I did not. $200 a month for free shipping when most companies charge nothing? Who would do that? They said they could only refund me for six months, but I will continue to pursue this. This practice is criminal. Soft Surroundings has been stealing from my credit card.

      I placed an order with Soft Surroundings and received the order, but that's not the issue.A month after I placed the order. my credit card company alerted me of a $***** charge from Soft Surroundings. It appeared to be fraudulent. When I called customer service, first I was stuck in an endless loop of various offers geared toward senior citizens. I chose to remain on the line for customer service but instead was connected to a salesperson. They started a speech trying to sell me a medical device. I tried several times to say I was not interested and was disconnected.I called back and chose the option to get help with an order. The person explained the charge of ***** was a charge for a rewards program, but I don't remember signing up for ***********, eventually I was transferred to someone that assured me they would cancel my membership and issue a refund. I will be watching my credit card statement to make sure that happens.I will never order anything from Soft Surroundings again. It seems their business plan includes scamming senior citizens.

      Wow! BUYER BEWARE!!! Read all the complaints they are legitimate! Worst online shopping experience ever. Delayed shipping, back orders, poor call center help, at least 1/2hr wait time for every call, emails take over a week for reply. $9.95 shipping fee for returns even if from same order and the back ordered item arrived 3 months later! Of course after return policy window so that took two 40min phone call to fix so I could return. FIVE weeks for a refund! Second back order (same item different size) didnt arrive. Can I cancel? No. Never showed and after another 1/2hr wait and frustrating call was told item was due to arrive in 4months which was over 9months after original order. Ok thats ridiculous and they finally cancelled. Two weeks later an email said, item no longer available. Order cancelled. The company is in over their heads and the customers are paying for it.

      If I could give them no stars I would! Their customer service is ATROCIOUS! They cant speak English on the phone, you are on hold for OVER a half an hour+ to speak to someone and then they dont understand your issue; To top off the horrible experience, they dont refund the amount correctly and then the frustration starts all over again! This has happened two times and I will NEVER order from them again, THEvWORST! Additionally, their clothing used to be a cut-above now its the typical cheap China crap!

      Shopped with Soft Surroundings for years. Now that all is online, its taking MONTHS to receive items. No confidence that Ill ever receive.

      I cant give this company any stars! It has been an incredibly frustrating experience in getting a refund on my purchase. It took over a month (and 5 phone calls) from the time the company received my return (documented by tracking number) for me to see a refund approval and then they told me it would take another week to see it on my credit card company.

      STAY away from them. Their service is horrible and the quality of the clothes is terrible. I would never order from them again. I ordered a top from them, found out today it might be delivered in August. I wasnt allowed to cancel the order. They said it was reserved for me so cancellation wasnt an option. They dont have any of the tops I ordered but I cant cancel????? This is a terrible customer service. Plus they charge for shipping and deduct $10.00 from a return refund for shipping. They truly are terrible. No wonder they had to file bankruptcy.

      This company since acquired by *************** and closed all of its stores has gone down hill. The items they offer are made nice and I'm happy when I receive. The problem is that when I placed my last order in January, they said I wouldn't receive until July. That is not acceptable and I canceled that order to my disappointment. I still have an order that I received partial on, and haven't heard a word about when to expect. You call and the customer service representative when you ask a question, your always put on hold and then they tell you that it will be a few weeks. Order was placed in January, still waiting. When you always call they charge your credit card (a placeholder on that card pending and then it disappears a week later). It's unfortunate that this company is run like this and is not getting any better. I guess this is the way of the world for mail order. You can't get qualified people to run it. As soon as I receive this partial shipment I'm getting off their mail order and going to Talbots, Chico's, or JJill. At least they can handle mail orders.
