I lost power in part of my house and contacted Fielder Elec around 11/10/2024. **** came and I paid about $348 for his first visit. He was in so severe pains in his knees and back that he had ************************** around. I even offered him to carry around his tool bag. He said it would require the second visit with another two more hours to fix the issue. He came back 2 or 3 weeks later but his physical conditions got even worse. After spending a few hours, he said he would need a helper to fix the issue and need schedule another visit. Mikes second visits bill is $237. After a few weeks, two new guys (not ****) came and started to figure out the cause from scratch. They could not find the cause and refed circuit from the basement receptacles as a temporary fix. This third visits bill is $655 (labor $510+$50 parts+$95 trip charge). Basement and kitchen ceilings were torn out in part for the cause search. I told the company that these bills are not fair because they are mostly due to labor costs and Mikes physical conditions caused longer hours, not only his but also the personnel change & increase leading more labor hours by new workers with a longer work span (living with no power for 6 weeks was no fun). I paid a total of about $900. The company insists that I pay all, charging the late payment fee. 1.5 months after the temporary fix by the two new workers, I run into the same problem as before. I hired another company, ***********************, which sent one worker. This worker made just one visit and found the cause and made a permanent fix, which took 2.25 hours. This makes me believe that those Fielder ************ were not competent and that it did not require two workers. Those ceiling tears were not necessary for which I will need to hire a *********. I have not posted this experience on on-line media like ****** or Yelp reviews yet. I want first to hear from some in charge of the company and give the company a chance to remedy this situation.

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:

The company response does not address the bill amount dispute issue caused by the company who sent out worker(s) physically not fit to work and incompetent.  I resubmit a portion from my original statements I had submitted:

I told the company that these bills (a total of about $1250) are not fair to me because they are mostly due to labor costs charged per labor hour and Mikes physical conditions (**** had ********************* around due to his severe knee & back pains) caused longer labor hours, not only his hours but also the personnel change &increase leading more labor hours by new workers with more visits and a longer work span (living with no power for 6 weeks was very inconvenient). I told the company that they should not send out its workers who are not physically fit to work, and I paid a total of about $900. The company insists that I must pay all and have started to charge the late payment fee.
About 1.5 months after their temporary fix by the two new workers from Fielder Electric, I run into the same electric problem as before. This time I hired another company, ***********************, which sent just one worker. This worker made just one visit and found the cause and made a permanent fix, which took all together 2 hours 15 minutes. This makes me believe that those Fielder ************ were not competent and that it did not require two workers (**** might have needed a helper with his physical conditions). Those ceiling tears by Fielder Elec were not necessary for which I will need to hire a ********* to repair.

    Sincerely,

    Complaint: 23076613

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:

I listed a number of facts in my complaint statement, but the company disputed none yet still demands me to pay the full amount $1250. I paid them about $90, yet their 3 workers could not find the cause of partial power loss in my house over 6 weeks.  And I had to hire another company,***********************, who sent just one worker who found the cause and fixed it one visit for just 2.25 hours. The company (Fielder Elec) initially sent a worker having ************************** around with severe pains in knees and back, which led to replacement with new workers, increased labor & trip charges and work delay. After six weeks of great inconvenience we had to live thru, they still could not find the cause, while two ceilings partially torn out by their works now need be repaired, and I feel I should request a refund for $900 I paid to them.  I would like to suggest the company to read my full complaint statement again and reconsider the situation for a reasonable resolution.

    Sincerely,

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! Your "electrician" arrived toward the end of May, 2022.(1) I gave him the newly bought
exterior sensor light to install and showed him instructions on correct setting of how many minutes it should
remain lit at one time.(35) (2.) I showed him all the upper bathrooms wall outlets that made a loud noise and
died. He claimed to correct the problems; Presented me with a bill of ($95 service call) labor of $237.50 and materials of $48 less $20 discount. The sensor came on every night and stayed on all day every day! I returned it back to the store and they helped me since the electrician could not understand the directions.
A few days later, with only night bulbs lighting the bathroom outlets there was another very loud "BANG" and
all of the little bulbs went dead again! All of the GFCI's were not working and the panel was of no help.
When I called the office for help, was I Shocked! The person answering started SCREAMING AT ME! She
claimed that it had nothing to do with them and when something already exists in the home...again...it had
nothing to do with them! What?????!! She didn't make sense, partially because she was yelling over me trying
to talk to her. If they came back, it would cost $95 for the trip and $90 per hour: this for their own inability
to fail the job the first time! She also threatened that it would do no good to report them as it is a "no Union
    Shop".
I find this all very sad as I happen to be ,and have been for 34 years, a Realtor in St. Louis and Europe.
I always have need for good electricians and professionals in Selling/Buying properties.

Thank you, for your statement to the BBB. Customers often look to the BBB for the structure of the company they are going to hire. We desire only to leave the customer knowing they have chose the right company.

Thank you for choosing Fielder Electrical Services, Inc. to provide for your electrical needs, as many realtors in St. Louis and the surrounding area have also done for over 30 years. We are appreciative for this experience with you.

You are a very important client to us. As the work we performed was warranted, a return trip at no charge to accommodate your request to return the light to a "motion" only and not dust to dawn feature.

Thank you, again and good luck with any future experiences you may have with repairs in your home.

    Customer Answer

I didn't ask them to come back out and change anything.  He never came out as he indicated in his response.  All I wanted them to do is to refund me; the work they did didn't solve the issue that I had.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/09/2022

We do not feel that a refund is warranted, and we consider this matter closed.

I am rejecting this response because: You would be indignant too if you spent hundreds of $ to have this company claim to have repaired your bathroom wall outlets only to

have them explode again plus a new exterior sensor light not be installed correctly and burn ALL DAY.  This light had to be  taken to the original store because the

"electrician" threw away all instructions, packing etc. Then, the person answering the phone at the electrical store started screaming without stopping at me saying it wasn't

their fault but they could send the same "electrician" for hundreds of -once again quoted- dollars  back to my house to try again!  Don't try to envision me with a serene

look on my face; it doesn't exist!  I want this complaint published and the "Business/Customer Relations Book" read.

    Sincerely,
