We bought a suite of appliances from Slyman. Our issue is with the refrigerator. It was supposed to be delivered on 2/18/25, but due to snow and bitter cold, the actual delivery took place on 2/19/25. That afternoon, the refrigerator began to make an oscillating noise at 73db going to a constant buzz at 68db. It cycles on for ***** minutes and then off for ***** minutes. This is 24 hours a day. It is extremely loud.Slyman was notified of the issue on 2/20/25. They did arrange for a repairman to come look at the refrigerator on March 5th (note the delay of 2 weeks.) We supplied Slyman and repairman with sound recordings of the noises. Repairman only ran diagnostic. He couldn't replicate the noise, said he has never heard anything like this and we should contact Slyman again. We did email them again as well as my husband physically went to the store.Since we received no help from repairman, my husband took off the back of the refrigerator and found that putting pressure on the compressor temporarily alleviates the noise. A video of this was sent to Slyman.They did offer another repairman to come on 3/13/25. How is this better than the first time around and now we are 3 weeks from our initial complaint. Meanwhile, we live without being able to sleep or have friends over due to the extreme noise. We require that the refrigerator be replaced with a NEW identical model.Due to the delayed delivery of the unit, it sat on truck for 36+ hours at approx 5 degrees. It was taken off truck and plugged in COLD, without letting the unit warm up. Please contact me if additional info. is needed.Business Response

The tech should be able to take care of the noise, the appliances aren't loaded on delivery trucks till the day of delivery, the cold weather wouldn't have had a effect on the refrigerator not working. The manufacturer won't replace the item unless is DOA, obviously the first service man didn't hear the noise to take care of it, getting a second opinion is always a good idea...Customer Answer

Our delivery was delayed for 24 hours due to snow. The tape was frozen on the refrigerator when it was delivered so obviously the extreme cold did play a part in the delivery of the unit. We have supplied multiple recordings of the sounds to Slyman Bros. and the technician who came out. The technician did not try to replicate the sound and was in and out of our house in 7 minutes. He said it sounded like Star Wars to him and he had never heard anything like it before.
The sounds are extreme and have been continuing for almost one month. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Slyman can pick up this refrigerator (with no restocking fee) and we will purchase a new unit from a reputable organization.

For the record, I did reply to your last correspondence. A second ********** was able to repair the refrigerator. It was making the intolerable noise due to bent hoses when the unit was shipped from the manufacturer. The compressor was under extreme stress every time the compressor kicked on. So we have a working unit, but who knows how much damage was done due to the stress on the compressor. We missed three Sunday family dinners and stayed home 2 days waiting on repairmen without any allowance or compensation. I would not say the situation was satisfactorily rectified.

I purchased an ** washer/dryer from this company. I have since had to enact its warranty with **. They have provided a refund for the washer/dryer to purchase another. I purchase a washer and dryer combo unit for $1676.12 in Jan 14, 2025. Once they hook up the units and it never work.. The individuals I spoke with regarding **** and ***** *******. I have been told by the store staff that they where suppose to be sending someone out to fix these brand machines and no one has show up. According to **** at the store they was waiting on a certain part and the part has been at my house for over a week. I continue to call and call and no one is coming out to fix my washers. We purchased a refrigerator in 2021 for our new home. In March of 2024 our ice maker stopped working. Slyman Brothers sent out a 3rd party company (AAA Appliance) to look at the refrigerator. The repair company stated that they were missing a piece that would have to be ordered and that it would take a few weeks to get that part in. 10 months later our ice maker is still not fixed. We have called Slyman Brothers, their warranty company, and AAA Appliance several times over the last 10 months to get resolution, with negative results. We are past fed up and want the refrigerator replaced. I'm aware that Slyman Brothers doesn't do their repairs themselves, but they need to be held accountable for the businesses they contract with.Business Response

I purchased a refrigerator from this company that needs repairs and I keep getting the run around. I keep being bounced around from company to company and no one is helping me get my refrigerator replaced as it is past the point of repair. I had technicians out from AAA 6 times and no one has done anything. AAA repair has indicated tge mfg whirlpool needs to replace it. ********** who is the warranty company will do nothing and *** will do nothing for 4 years. I want this replaced. This warranty I paid for is not taking care of the customer. Please replace. It indicates if tgey have not fixed after 3 visits tgey will replace. Whirlpool or Centricty, and slymann brotgers needs to get together on this and replace it.Business Response

The Manufacturer has a one year warranty, the customer has to go through the manufacturer to get repair, they don't replace the unit before they can repair it... the service company that has been to the house should be able to tell them when they can get the part they ordered to repair the merchandise..Customer Answer

They charged me for my flat top stove. They called me on the phone and said it**;s a GE, a drop in cooktop. I asked if it would fit and he said yes. They charge $179 to drop it in and plug up the electricity. The electricity wasn**;t right. Then he said it would cost about $500 to get this taken care of and for some reason he thought I said I would take care of it. So ********** wrote me up a new contract and never called me back. A normal install is the ******, but if the customer doesn't have the right and up to code electric they of course charge more,, the install goes directly to the contractor which is Speaks contracting, Slyman's doesn't install built ins.. See attached letter for complete description of the issue. Literally, we were penalized for their mistake. Had **** **** *******l worte the correct number, I would have received the correct refrigerator for a lot less money, stress and avoided a series of mishaps. 1. Wrong refrigerator ordered 2. Second refrigerator did not fit in custom cabinet and *** cast doubt on cabinet company not using industry standards 3. Charged 25% restocking fee, not the low end of 10% restocking fee, which is indicated on their website 4. **** and *** claimed they called me on numerous occasions. However, **** **** or *** recorded the wrong phone number. I sent *** my phone numbers in emails, which he did not update in their system 5. Text messages were ignored at times, and I would eventually have to reach out to *** via phone It seems that once Slyman gets your business the customer service diminishes and forget about receiving a refund. Given the nature of the many mishaps caused by Slyman, I do not agree with the 25% restocking fee imposed on the second refrigerator return instead of 0%-10%. They have taken NO responsibility for their sales associates' errors. This company is not forthcoming about refund policies or fees that might be applied if a return is necessary. When the customer was told the size of the refrigerator they said it would fit. When it didn't they came in to reselect and we delivered free of charge and installed free of charge the one they reselected.. They were aware of the restocking charge and didn't have a problem with it when they came in to reselect... I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:we were blamed for problem and aware of fees.
1) "Free delivery and installation" - nothing was free. We paid a delivery charge according to the attached receipts. We did not require installation because a licensed contractor installed the appliances.
2) "We were aware of the restocking fee when we came in to reselect" - We were not made aware of any restocking fee until after we received the cost of the 3rd selected refrigerator, which is when a "restocking fee" was applied.
3) "We didn't have an issue with the restocking fee when we came in to reselect" - Again, a restocking fee was never mentioned to us during any visits, phone calls, or text messages with Slyman's sales representatives. Once we received the final receipt, we were upset over the 25% restocking fee.

I purchased a stack washer/ dryer to replace one that wasnt working. I payed for ********************************* Slyman ************* were unable to remove the old one. I dont know why, because I did hire another company who were able to remove it. Slyman than charged me $***** to redeliver the stack washer/ dryer. Upon delivery, they were unable to install the machine. Again, I dont know why they were unable to do this.. I again hired another company to successfully complete the installation.Please inform future customers, that ********************************************* do not know how to install stack washer/ dryers. The delivery team could not remove the old set due to cabinets being in the way,,, they asked if customer would sign the waiver so if they damaged the cabinetry they aren't responsible, she refused... When they we delivered they couldn't install due to the way her venting was, it wasn't up to code and we don't install if something isn't up to code to protect the customers home...Customer Answer

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:I WANT FUTURE CUSTOMERS TO BE AWARE THAT ********************************************* HAS PROBLEMS WITH REMOVING & INSTALLING STACK WASHER/DRYERS.
Previously I have had a stack washer/ dryer in this location for 20 years. If you can get it in, you should be able to get it out. It seems strange that Slyman Brothers were unable to do this, but an other company could without the excuses. The same is true with the installation. Slyman gave excuses & couldnt complete the installation. Another qualified company was hired to do the installation. I realize that this is a small space, but that usually is why people buy stack washer/ dryers. Qualified training was lacking in this case.
I learned my ****** about Slyman Brothers. They do carry good appliances & the sales department is good. But, the installation in my case was insufficient.

Location: ********************************************** On Aug. 10, 2024, I purchased a stove from Slyman Brothers to be delivered on Aug. 13, 2024. I did not realize the receipt said white. When stove was delivered, it did not look like the one in the store (same stove, different color). I signed for delivery, when I asked delivery driver what I was signing he said that stove was delivered without any scratches or dents. This store did not try to work with me at all, wanted to charge me another delivery charge to bring out correct stove. Driver could not hook stove up due to an electrical condition, had electric issue fixed, so stove could be plugged in. I also never received a back on the stove (just a printed paper). Please make others aware of this shady company. They also refused to give me the name of their owner or district manager, went to store to check to see if I was wrong on color.Business Response

The customer was shown a picture of the range which was white,,, nothing was mentioned that she wanted a different color,,, she has a all white kitchen. She was told we can exchange it for a different color but she didn't want to pay what a different color would be.. The electrical work had nothing to do with us that's up to customer to have the electric to their home in tack for us to install it properly. I regret the business's response. Yes I have an all white kitchen, this is why I went with the stove that had a black front. Another reason I went with the other stove (not the all white one was because the black front stove (which was more money) was because it had 5 burners (warming burners) a pull out pan for cleaning, and an air fryer. The stove he showed me on the computer was the one with the black front air fryer and 5th burner and pull out tray, was told by the delivery driver that once electricity was fixed they would return with correct stove. When I asked to sign the delivery slips, I asked what I was signing and was told that the stove they delivered had no scratches or dents. They did offer me a return/exchange but only at another delivery fee and restocking charge of 25%. Why should I pay for salesman error?Business Response

We ordered an entire set of appliances for our bar during the construction of our new basement. One of the appliances ordered was an ice maker conveyed as a high-quality brand sold by Slyman Brothers. We have been attempting to communicate with our sales representative and the manager of the Ballwin location on multiple occasions, including speaking directly with the manager to articulate the issue clearly some time ago. We were told that a service expert would be scheduled immediately to visit our home in the earliest possible timeframe. However, there has been no follow-through with any service visit confirmed. At the same time, we are not certain if the ice maker is simply defective or unable to perform to its sold specification for how it should generate full-sized cubes that are clear and without dimpling. The dimpling is so bad that cubes have holes running entirely through them, and the ice displays frost, which is affecting their clarity despite Slyman selling this as a high-quality ice maker for cocktail cube serving. Overall, we are highly disappointed in the lack of attention and follow-up by Slyman Brothers. We have emailed, called and are wasting our time due to their poor engagement. We would have hoped that this would be an easy call to request their support.Business Response

The service call was called in after explaining to the customer if the install company which the customer used, installed it incorrectly the manufacturer would charge for a service call. So hopefully the installer checked his work.. *************************** was called and responded 24hours later that there had to be a Ok from the manufacturer to work on the unit, it took another 24 hours to get that OK, the servicer was contacted by Slyman Brother salesrep and he was told they would contact the customer to schedule the appointment.... Unfortunately it does sometimes takes days for response on these matters...As of today the customer should of heard from the service company. Please advise if he hasn't
