My taxes prepares filed my taxes January 31st over the phone , I then got a call back immediately stating that someone had already claimed me and my 2 children on there tax return. I then was told from my taxes prepare that I had to file by paper which I did so Feb 3 or 4th I cant remember the exact date. I then went to there office and filed paper and she mailed my return off. I contacted the irs after sending my return off letting them know that someone had claimed me and my 2 children and I was told to file by paper as I was told from my taxes preparer. They then told me that I had to send in a letter of explanation and a affidavit stating that I didnt give anyone permission to file me nor my kids. I exactly that. So I waited a couple weeks and one day I decided to check the website and it said that my refund was issued to a bank account March 8th a bank account that I never heard of or had access too. So I then reached out to my taxes prepares trying to see if they knew the bank account that it was sent too , they told me no. So I instantly reached out to the irs and I was told that the bank rejected it because I didnt have account in my name so they sent it back to the them. Which took about 3 weeks to get back to the irs. I was told from the irs that since I submitted the letter of explanations and affidavit that it was now under investigation and I could possibly wait 430 to get my taxes return. I am a single mother of 2 and I shouldnt have to wait on my money to get here because of something some else did unwilling. Ive been filing with these people for 7 years now and there the only ones that has me and my children information I feel as if its some fraud going on with them. The irs told the bank account it was sent to was the taxes prepares bank account but they lied to me and said they didnt know who bank account it was.
