We hired Blind Ambition to put shutters in our home. We started the process on Oct 10 2022. We totally took our home down to studs. ***** was our salesperson. She had seen it dw3on to studs. We explained we wanted shutters to fin inside the windows we were building. She assured us they would fit inside the frame. Meantime we were waiting for our windows to be installed so ***** could get the correct measurements. She came out in November and used a laser tool to measure our 5 windows. We sent her a check for half of payment of ********. They scheduled a man named *** to install windows on Jan 4. He spent 4 hours looking at his stuff. We figured something wasn't right. He told us the shutters were not correct size. We called and talked to owner and she3 told us one of our windows were not square. That somehow was our fault. They measured, ordered them. If they felt they were not square why not tell us before we ordered custom windows. So we came to a agreement to let them try to put them in. Because *** assured us they could. *** got to our house today Jan 16. He was using filler board and caulk trying to get shutter frame in there. Well it would have messed up our framing of our windows. We called *** while he was there and she said there is nothing she could do. We were spending ******* on custom shutters. We are beyond aggravated and feel like we have been trying to be patient. But I don't think they know how to measure or anything about carpentry of a window. We just want our money back. I could see if we measured them. Then yes it's on us. But if they measure and order them what did we do wrong. We trusted they knew what they were doing.Business response

Blind Ambition worked with ********* to order and install custom shutters inside their window openings. When mounting shutters inside of a window opening we must take the smallest measurements (both width and height) of that opening. Most window openings are not perfectly square, while the shutters are perfectly square. This creates uneven light gaps between the window opening and the shutters. Many times we can simply use caulk to fill the uneven light gaps while others require a light block strip and caulk to fill the uneven gaps. In this case the measurements are correct and it is a situation in which the gaps are large enough we need to use light block and caulk to fill the uneven gaps. This was discussed at the original consultation and ****************** signed our disclosure stating this was discussed and they were aware of the uneven light gaps. We installed one shutter and were not allowed to finish the caulking on that shutter before being ask to leave and not install the other shutters. As stated on the invoice at time of order, all treatments are custom made and no changes or cancellations can be made after production of the window treatments have begun. If we mis-measure, or make a mistake of any kind, we will definitely reorder and make sure every customer gets exactly what they ordered. In this case, the shutters are the correct measurement and exactly as ordered. We absolutely can, and would love to, install the shutters. Our installers are union carpenters and are very knowledgable. I have attached the consultation checklist **************** signed acknowledging that uneven light gaps/out of square windows were discussed, and the invoice stating no changes or cancellations after production has begun. We have the product the ********* ordered, as they ordered it. The shutters are absolutely the correct size and we can, and are willing to, install them as we agreed and originally discussed.Customer response
