***** (technician) was here on February 13, 2024, as the freezer compartment on my refrigerator had been periodically frosting up and icing over. After unloading the freezer completely, he diagnosed the problem as a small hole in the corner of the gasket and said repair was not possible, only replacement of the gasket. I was told I had to pay for the gasket in advance and that the manufacturer did not carry the part so it would be purchased through other channels and might possibly take a very long time to receive (many months, no way to know for sure). Though that seemed a bit odd, I know parts availability became difficult during the ***** pandemic and I assumed problems continue along that vein. I went ahead and paid $193.68 for the gasket, saying I didnt want to replace the entire refrigerator unit and if that was my only other option then I really had no choice but to proceed.For whatever reason, following that service call no further problems with the freezer icing over have occurred. It seems to me that the hole could have been covered over or glued shut instead of saying nothing could be done.Subsequently I called Service Brothers twice and both times was told that someone would return my call that day to discuss the matter. My call was not returned either time. Following that, I sent the company an email the first week of March, hoping that would spur someone to be in touch. They have not.My Mastercard was charged $318.68 on February 13, $125 for the service call and $193.68 for the gasket. I am not disputing the fee for the service call, would just like the order for the gasket cancelled and $193.68 refunded. I would also like my account/invoice #**** to reflect a 0 balance. Thank you.
