see Attached document, the following is a summary

Your billing practices are a crime. Your employees did nothing on the first day, and on the second day they spent more time either in town or getting parts. I want you to cancel all scheduled projects we have.

I had services from the company in 2017. At that time, the worker told me what the bill amount was and I wrote him a check to take when he left. I never heard anything back until a few months ago when a collection agency contacted me about the default bill. I verified with my bank the check never cleared and no one knows what happened to it but I also never received an invoice, a bill, a call, nothing. When I offered to pay the original bill (not the new outrageous bill of double the amount due to unspecified interest) right then over the phone, they declined my offer saying, "It's too late for that." Now they won't talk to me but the collection agency says D&M is still charging 18% interest each month it's not paid, plus it just hit my credit. (An invoice I saw on someone else's bill says 1.5% not 18%) As upset as I was to first find out about this, I humbled myself when I called to work this out. I explained needing to first verify the lost check, then apologized for the error once verified. The original lady I spoke with explained they'd just changed billing systems and had sent a ton of old bills to collection but that she'd help me get the account settled. I don't know what happened to her as repeated attempts failed to reach her again and some manager eventually called me back saying, "It's too late to work with you on this so just pay the bill or don't. It's not my credit rating." Since this happened, I've become aware of others in the area dealing with the exact same issue from D&M. Some who've even done business since the "past due amount" but were never notified of the outstanding amount. How can you legally sit on a bill, allowing it to accrue interest, but never contact the person?

The BBB called the business on 2-24-2023 and the following is an overview of the phone call.

The employee did not lose the check, or misplace it. The check didn't clear the bank. The business wants its money due from the work done.

    Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* I had spoken to the business owner who was kind enough to call me and offered to accept the original balance due. I accepted and paid. He requested I update my complaint here which I promised to do once I could verify the creditor had removed the issue from my credit rating. The issue is now resolved satisfactorily for us both.
    Regards,
