The Auto Repair Network sent me very threatening mail stating that if I did not call them within a period of time I was going to lose my warranty. As a new car owner, I assumed this was the same network I had my warranty with, because their mail has very little information on it. Nothing really says who they are, and it looks very official. So I called to renew. On the phone, the guy I talked to asked no questions, basically took my information and left. He did not send me any copies of what contract I had just signed up for, as I would have read into it and cancelled. Instead I was charged twice at $256.94. The first charged I again, assumed it was a renewal for my other warranty because that is what they were playing it off that it was... by time the second charge came, I called to cancel whatever contract. I received an email and I also wrote a letter to get one of my charges back. I wasted almost $600 on warranty I didn't need. I never received anything explaining what the warranty was. I never physically signed anything. I was sent confusing and misinformed mail. This business model, feels like a scam.Business Response

On 9/30/2024 I paid $4201 for a 6 year extended warranty. I soon found out they are not connected with any car dealers as was stated. I needed new brake pads and rotors. Pads at $81 was covered but not rotors at about $200. I called them to cancel and issue a prorated refund and they told me to send a letter requesting cancelation and I sent it on 2/4/2025. I have since called asking if they received it and they keep telling me to just send it again. I think this is a possible scam and hoping for some resolution with your help.Business Response

On 5/23/2024 *** ****** called my mother-in-law, who is 76 years old, and proceeded to sell her a car warranty policy on her 20-year-old vehicle. On that date she authorized a payment from her bank account in the amount of $215. When we found out about the purchase after receiving a bill in the mail for $205.33 we immediately took action to cancel the policy and request a refund in the full amount of $420.33. I have a fax confirmation showing we successfully faxed the cancelation to the company on 7/18/2024. On 10/16/2024 we still have not received the refund for any portion of what was paid, which the agent we canceled with told us it would be refunded in full, so upon calling on 10/16/2024 we were told that the letter was received on 7/18/2024 but that it takes ***** days for the refund to go out. I said that 90 days would be in two days. She then stated it would be ***** business days, which we are at 65 "business" days now. I asked for a manager and ***** got on the line and then told me it would be ***** business days from 7/29/2024 when they "processed" the letter. The date keeps changing and this is preying on the elderly with limited social security income to even be selling something like this. All we want is the refund she is entitled to. I also looked at the online account they created for her, and it shows they attempted to take two more payments from her on 8/5/2024 for $1181 and on 8/17/2024 for $1981.35, but luckily, we had canceled the payment authorization/credit card with the bank. This company is a sham and should be ashamed for preying on the elderly like this. But all they keep saying is try to **** us on why she needs this policy, but she does not. She barely even drives any more.Business Response
