They put my roof on the end of April of 2020, paid $11,000. After the first year I had half a shingle come. My wife and I called multiple times and left multiple messages and they wouldnt return our calls. I had to contact another roofer to fix the problem. I had multiple roofers come out to give me estimates of a price to fix it. They all said the same thing. They are coming off due to the installers not putting the nails in the correct locations. They told me they saw multiple shingles that are probably going to do the same thing. And hear it is two years later and I have another shingle torn off, with looks like a third one on it way. I would really like for them to pay a company, of my choosing, to replace the whole roof. No guarantees that the rest of the shingles will come off. They installed ***** ******* ********* shingles. They done really shotty work and I would like it fixed.

There is also no way for another company to tell you that they seen other nails in the wrong place without removing shingles sir. So I'm not sure where that is coming from but I sure hope you have documentation & photo of that. If so please send them to the better business bureau and to myself at ********************************.. also I hope you night of saved the shingles that did blow off as you say they did bc that will show where the nail holes are. And I can assure you they are in the nail strip as they are supposed to be. We have had alot of storms in the last 2 years. And your roof is steep and the wind catches steep roofs more than any other roofs. I am positive you probably have storm damage. Have you filed with your insurance company sir? I would like the names of the other companies that was on the roof we done to "fix" our work and the names of the ones that says they seen other nails in the wrong place with photos or I would like to meet with these same roofers at your property so they can show us all what is going on. That should get to the bottom of all of this. Once again, I no longer have the ******** number our numbers are updated on all social media, on the bbb and ****** and have been updated for at least 6 months now. I also remember us emailing back and forth so I know you have our email address and it is also on all of our contracts. Unless I somehow missed it I have received zero emails in regards to this matter either. We have a ** page and you know that as well, bc you had me take some photos down of your house bc "it was to many" so I did take them down. There are multiply ways to get ahold of us and we have not heard from you since we left the day we finished your roof

We do not rush thru any of our work as you are well aware of. I do know my husband would NEVER NOT install shingles with the nails in the wrong spot. That is why we give our 5 year WORKMANSHIP warranty. We stand behind our work and our employees work. Can my husband be over them all the time to make sure they don't miss the nail strip? No, he can not. But we always tell our guys to take their time and not go fast. The nail strip is 2 inches wide and as wide as the shingle. They would really have to TRY to miss the nail strip. Or not know what they are doing, and my husband doesn't let anyone shingle until they KNOW what they are doing. So as I stated I would hope that you have proof with pictures or the old shingles that blew off to show where the nail holes was. Just bc you got a new roof 2 years ago doesn't mean that you are free from all problems. The manufacturer have warranties for the shingles bc there are sometimes claims that need to be filed for faulty shingles. There is also our 5 year workmanship warranty. I'm sure we can make mistakes, we are human do we do provide a 5 year workmanship warranty on all our work. I pay the better business bureau to be a part of their network. It's not free. I pay monthly and have for over 2 years now to hold ourselves accountable and make sure our customers have that peace of mind. We do 100s of roofs a year, literally 100s. Would we pay the bbb monthly if we do shotty work as you say? No we wouldn't. I have ONE bad review from an unsatisfied customer for SIDING and we also done her roof. And no, we didn't do her siding bc by the time we got her roof done and seen all the shady stuff going on there I didn't want to do any work. Besides the fact her husband had told us they didn't have the money to pay for the siding and she would not contact her insurance company while we was there to do the roof to get them to send the rest of the money to cover it just incase they didn't have the money like her husband said. He was an over the road truck driver and was never there. While he wasn't there a bunch of shady stuff was going on. Not to mention the fact of when I went in the house there was a cookie jar full or pot on the table for me to see and smell and I just didn't feel comfortable there anymore. Regardless of all that, that is the only bad review we have out of hundreds of roofs. She doesn't even have anything bad to say about her roof.
My point is there could be other reasons the shingles blew off you are just assuming that bc another roofing company (OUR COMPETITION) told you something that it should be true. I can promise you there is no way they would know if the nails was in the wrong spot. Besides the fact if the nails wasn't in the right spot after 2 years time you would of had a house full of leaks.
I will say the reason we had to have our number changed is we bought a house in the country and ******* was no longer working well for us. I wasn't getting calls and it took forever for me to receive any voice-mails and sometime is didn't. So we switched to us cellular. If it was the 855 number with ******* and it was during that time frame that you tried contacting me then that is the reason behind that. BUT, and this is a big BUT I do know our email address is on your contract as well as my name and you could of messaged the ** page even and I got nothing. We never knew you had an issue until this morning. We was not avoiding you, by far. We stand behind our work and would of been there right away had we known to see what is going on. I do have an active social media stalker trying to ruin my business as well. I hope that isn't you bc I have filed charges. I am going to assume it's not you and it's our competition bc we in fact FIX alot of their work. We are a standup company that backs everything we do! Always. And I pay the bbb to monitor our company to prove we are trustworthy and worthy of peoples business. So once again, just bc you have a new roof 2 years ago put on does not mean other things can't go wrong.
      1) storm damage, which is what I honestly suspect this is bc of the steepness of your roof and all the storms we have had in the last 2 years.
      2) faulty shingles - that's why you have the manufature warranty from the manufature. We don't use shingles like ***** (and you know this bc I told you) that don't back their products with their warranty
      3) one of our workers nailed a nail low, which is totally against our policy when working for us. But I don't think that is the issue vc had that happened you would of had leaks way before the shingle blew off. BUT u have a workmanship warranty for 5 years from us just incase something has happened with our work.
Sir, your whole roof isn't done wrong. Maybe a shingle or 2 but honestly like I said I doubt that bc u didn't complain of any leaks in that 2 years. I will not pay for a roof that you have alos had other work on, that in itself voids any warranty we had. And the manufacturer warranty as well. I would like the name of the company you had do the work and claim that our work is wrong and I would like to arrange the meeting at your home with them, us and you to inspect the roof and our work. And of course to see what is really going on. Your roof is very steep, and my honest opinion is you have probably gotten some storm damage. Have you called your insurance company to have them come and check? And adjustor isn't our competition trying to get roofs sold unlike the company you had come out. The adjustor is trained to know what is really going on. I'm not sure if I put my new numbers on the message I sent previously before I realized the first message didn't send but just incase my number is ************ or ***** is ************. We have no problems discussing this with you and coming out and taking a look at what's going on. Matter of fact that's what I want to happen but i pull also like for this other company to be there or your adjustor from your insurance company. That is how confident I am in our work and that I believe qith my whole heart there is another issue Besides our work.

I would like for the homeowner to respond to THEIR complaint or close it out. It is currently raining and if there is shingles missing or fixing to come off it is just a matter of time before the roof starts leaking. Whether it be storm related damage or whatever the case might be it needs to be addressed as quickly as possible! He opened the claim with the better business bureau claiming we done "shotty" work. And I would like the chance to defend my company. Had the roof been done wrong with nail heads showing or nails in the wrong spot then yes that would be our fault and we would be willing to fix it. Not the whole roof redone but the shingles that are not right. But as I have said, I do not think that is the issue here but would like the opportunity to PROVE that as we do have a 5 year workmanship warranty. We need to come inspect the roof or this case needs to be closed. Had the nails been put in the wrong place to where "other roofing companies" could SEE that other shingles are fixing to "blow" of due to "shotty" work there would be leaks all over the roof after 2 year time. And thus far I have heard zero mentioned about leaking. So with all that being said and the rest of the things I have said, the homeowner needs to let us come inspect the roof or close this case. As I said in my other replies I would like for the roofing companies that the homeowner had there to "fix our work" be there as well for the inspection and/or proof of what they claim that we did the roof wrong. The homeowner was outside alot sitting watching my guys work when he wasn't at work himself and knows for a fact we don't rush through our work. And that is the only way this could of happened, or untrained people shingling which is not the case either. The homeowner says he hasnt been able to get ahold of us but does infact have multiple ways to get ahold of us and now does have our attention with filing this complaint against my company. Please get ahold of us asap for the inspection or close this case. We will be in Arkansas for the next couple of weeks working in *********, arkansas starting on Monday. Would love to get this taken care of and inspected before we are out of town. This is why I pay the BBB is for our homeowners to feel confident that they have chosen the right company by letting the consumer file complaints if needed but we also have the right to defend our company that we do 100s of roofs per year. Thank you for the attention to this matter ASAP ************ is my number (******) and ************ is *****'s number. Email is ******************************** or *************************.. we also have a ******** page for our business that you are welcome to message me on or find me on ******** on my personal page and send me a message. Please contact me, either through the better business bureau and this complaint or through one of the other many ways to get ahold of me.

      Thanks,

I have a 5 year warranty on the roof they put on in 2019. I have called them numerous times to let them know that the roof is leaking and I now have water damage in one of my rooms. I want them to back up their warranty.

      Business response

      08/08/2022

We haven't received any calls recently from ***************************. She called us at one time to come fix where a storm had knocked her satellite lose and he we did go back and fix that for her. If that's where the leak is at that isn't a roof warranty issue or our work. That would be something that would have to be taken up with her insurance since it was storm related. We don't like our homeowners putting satellites or anything through the new roof but if that is what they want to do that is what we do is put it back. But by putting the holes in the new roof for the satellite it does cause holes in the new shingles which can always be cause for a leak later down the line. We can come back out if she wants to have the satellite put in the ground so it's not penetrating the roof then we can put new shingles on her but it was her decision to put the holes for the satellite into the new shingles. I have received no calls in a very long time from ****** but she may not have our updated phone number. ************ or ************ is the phone number to call. We no longer have the other number.

I forgot to mention in my response back that we have had quite a few strong storms since 2019 and that she may have new damage. She hasn't tried to call **, if she did it was our old number. Which we have changed our number in every spot that we can beside our invoices from our previous customers. I also know that she added on to her house with an attached garage and had someone else do the roofing on it. We have no way of knowing if those guys that she had do that damaged our work. We would just have to look at the roof to determine that. I feel it very unfair for her to open a case against us when we had no idea anything was going on. When the storm went through and damaged her satellite we went there and fixed it for free. That is the only time she has ever contacted us.

              Thank you,

      Complaint: 17676738

I am rejecting this response because: I have a 5 year warranty on workmanship and damage that was given when I hired you.  This is on my signed contract.  I have tried to contact you several times on the new number and you have not reached out to me.  I have left several messages and you did not respond to me until I filed this complaint.  I did have the owner from C & S Roofing & Construction come out in 2021 and showed him a leak in the master bedroom.  He admitted to me that they had an oversight and they forgot to do something and it was corrected.  It stopped the leak temporarily.  Now it is leaking again and there are 3 rings that are starting from the leaks.  I am concerned that this could mold and make me very ill.  The attached garage has nothing to do with roof you did for me.  The garage is on the NORTH side and the damage from your work is on the SOUTH side of the roof.  They company I hired to do the attachment did not touch the section of the roof that was done by you, C & S Roofing & Construction .  *********** that added the garage attachment DID inspect C & S Roofing & Construction work and said that the company did not caulk around the vents nor the nails when they put on the roof and this is what cause the water damage I have in my home.  You can come out and inspect and you will see that it was not done properly the first time.  You can either stand by your warranty and repair my roof and pay me for the water damage I incurred or you can provide your insurance company's information and I will have another company repair the work that you should have done properly the first time.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

We can come over and check the work to see if the caulking has came off and I will be calling you to make an appointment to do just that. As far a receiving any messages or calls from you, I have not. Often we work in areas I have no phone reception and I do not see on my phone where people have called me and if they do not leave a voice mail I have no way of knowing they even called. I check my voice-mail daily and I have received none from you. So I had no way of knowing you had even tried to get in touch with me.

I pay the BBB every month to be listed with them to prove to our customers that we are a stand up company that does the job right the first time. We have had zero complaints out of 100s of roofs we do a year except for this complaint. I would not pay monthly to to the bbb to be listed with them if I wasn't very confident in our work.

As far as caulking around roof vents, that is not the proper way to do a roof and any ****** search will tell you that. The face nails need to be caulked and yes we do caulk them everytime. If we didn't it would of been **************************************************************** 2019. It would of leaked right away. Now I'm going to tell you what I think has happened. When my husband came out to tighten your satellite up the first time you called us the other company was there working on your garage. That company is not listed with the BBB and doesn't have good reviews and their work is not good. I do know this for a fact bc we have fixed their work alot after they have left a place. We have also been hired to finish jobs that they start but do not complete and just run off with people's money. They was there at that time working on your home. That is how I even know that you had someone build anything else. I think maybe they may have sabotaged our work to make us look bad. It is just to coincidental that the ONLY roof we have ever had to go back to bc of workmanship warranty is yours. Caulking would be fairly easy to take off without the homeowner knowing. My husband did say that while he was up there fixing the satellite he did have to redo the caulking to the face nail heads bc there was none on there and there should of been. So I'm just going to assume that once he left this "company" removed it again since here we are again with the same issue. Caulking needs to be maintained on the face nailheads yes, but it should last more than a year. I hate to even think that someone would do that to us. But as I said we haven't had any other complaints or calls except yours. The roof was not done wrong. Period. Our work professional and we do know what we are doing. As far as the inside spots we can take a look at it but I'm not agreeing to pay you money to have it fixed if we determine that the roof was sabotaged. You will have to go after that company and not us. You can also ****** that companies name and you will find all kinds of unhappy customers. You won't find that with my company. If he told you that caulking needed to go around the vents then that shows he doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm sorry this has came to this but like I said with them being there at the time we came back the first time and we have had zero issues with any other roof we have ever done I have to assume they did this. As I said, we done your roof in 2019, you called us to come back in 2021 while they was working there. Had we not put the caulking on the nail heads it would of leaked way before 2021 and now it's doing it again? I'm going to assume they took it off before they left just to try to damage our reputation. I will be calling you to make an appointment to come look at the roof and inspect it. But just so you know the nail holes do need maintenance and you can ****** that as well, but it should of lasted longer than a year.

      Customer response

      08/11/2022

We Simply want this company to do what is right and pay to correct their poor workmanship issues. I had a roof inspection done that confirms the workmanship errors that were made when this company did the original work. I will send the inspection report and estimate to the BBB. I had to call this company numerous times to get them to come out and look at the leaking issues I had, they were very rude and just one guy went up there, he stated that he fixed it, which I trusted, but it started leaking again in the same area, and he would not come back to look at it anymore.  I do not trust this company to do any additional work, I want them to cover the cost of the repairs by a certified roofing company of my choice. These workmanship errors have caused interior damage to my home and continue to cause more damage with every passing day. I also fear that this dragging out for so long now, I am also dealing with mold issues, that could cause harm to my health. This company claims if I have any other company work on the roof, I will void their warranty, so they have locked me into a bad situation, where I either let the damage continue, or pay out of my pocket to replace the roof I paid them to replace in 2019.
