Matt Martin construction started a remodel on my home in Aug 2022, in Oct I asked him how much it would cost to finish my home as he was over budget. He told me a number and I agreed to pay that, but told him that was all I could pay. The week of Thanksgiving he invoiced out the last of that money got his tools and trailer and left my home. My home was unfinished, a complete and total wreck. Before he left Matt promised that he or his lead guy would be back and would work until my home was complete. He sent a guy to my house a few times. Once to paint and a 3 times to lay tile. My remodel included an master bath, bed, closet addition of almost 450 sq ft. He didn't brace the roof of the addition. He didn't insulate the addition. The sheetrock ceiling he installed is cracking in at least 4 rooms (which he claims cracked because we didn't leave the hvac on for it to cure properly, but we now know is due to the lack of bracing). He cut braces in my attic for the Hvac guy to install new duct work but didn't replace them. The electrical he ran had to be redone and completed by my husband and nephew. We had to do repairs to his drywall work. Completely repaint. It took his guys over 3 weeks to lay tile in my home, they didn't finish the job and it took him over 2 months to send someone to work on it. He layed broken tile and 2 rooms it still have to be grouted and he charged me over $18,000 for tile services. He did not place a dryer vent in my closet for the dryer. He did not complete my cabinets. His guys wasted so much tile that I had to reorder more. He didn't order enough brick initially so more had to be ordered and his brick layer left and can't come back until March. He blames the overages on rising material cost and blames me for excessive changes, when really things had to be changed because I asked for something and he did the opposite. My house is incomplete because he didn't keep check on labor hours and work they completed. I am left to try to complete it.
