On Friday, August 5, 2022, I met with the owner ****** ****** about renting a space in her store. She stated her fee would be $250/month for the space. She required me to pay the $250 at that time- although her "grand Opening" was going to be the 12th. I asked why she didn't pro-rate the month and she stated she would be refunding the extra days paid at the end of the month when she paid out our sale On Sunday morning (Aug, 7), I tried to contact ****** via text- explaining that after having time to think about this arrangement it was not in either of our best interest. The items I make and sell have an average price of $10. It would be difficult for me to cover the booth rent and she could make better use of the space with a different vendor. I got no response. On Tuesday (Aug. 9), I contacted her again. She responded that she was out sick. She would reduce my booth rent by half, and that it was ready to move in. I responded the following morning and explained I could not have my items stocked in the store by her grand opening and that maybe after she got settled in the store we could revisit renting space- but I was going to have to pass. I asked for a refund. She did not respond. I contacted her again Friday (8-12) and she said she would call me after 2pm. I did not receive a phone call. I contacted her on Saturday ( 8-13), no response. I contaced her again on Sunday and again today with no cooperation or response. I paid the money in good faith of renting a space. There was no signed documents nor did she state it was non-refundable. After all, she was going to have refund a lot of it due to pro-rating the month. I know I should not have paid her without rental agreement. I have a record on "Cash app" of paying Sassy Vintage $250. I trusted her to be an upstanding business. She even told me she was accredited by the BBB. Which is why I am filing this complaint.
