-Date of services received: 3/23/22 -Amount payed to company for services: $6,890.00 -payment made in full on 3/23/************ sought/received: new roof on home -we(customers) have extensive water damage from the incorrect re-installation of skylight in upstairs bathroom -water leakage right below downstairs roofing in dining room (damages are being assessed)-made contractor(Chase Roof Inspections) aware of leakage from skylight 3/24/22.-Chase Roof Inspections sent employees to our home for temporary fix because of extensive rain forecast and to measure for new skylight (they offered to replace the old one) 3/25/22.-I, *********************** spoke with Mr. **** from this company and he insisted they replace the skylight and repair drywall damage. At that time, I stated that we would accept the replacement/repair if there would be someone knowledgeable of repair present at that time. -It was agreed and a date was set for repair of damages and installation of new skylight for 6-22-22.Shortly after the new skylight was dropped off and I was contacted and installation date was pushed back. I was told to await further details about the exact date. After almost a month, I contacted the contractor via text message to touch base and get more information on repair date and was told it would be completed on 7-7-22. On 7-5-22 I received a text that the company could not meet repair/installation date and that they had sent a check for $1,000 to compensate for repair of damages and installation of new skylight. I have since contacted another roofing contractor who gave an estimate of $1800 for ordering the needed skylight( because Chase Roof Inspections ordered one that can NOT be used due to incorrect sizing etc.) and installation. The company also stated that they could connect us with a separate company for drywall repairs. Were scheduled to have the new company install the correct skylight at the beginning of next week.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/10/2022

I have undertaken to resolve the customer's complaints by collecting the new skylight we provided and paying the customer the cash equivalent for that skylight; then by also reimbursing the customer for difference the customer paid to have a new skylight installed. These actions fully compensated the customer for the cost ($1,685.00) of the installation of the new skylight of the customer's choice.

Additionally, I have agreed to pay reasonable costs of of repairing the drywall damage caused by the skylight leaks, or to send my own technicians to repair the drywall, whichever the customer chooses. The customer stated that the drywall damage in the dining room is most likely from the skylight leaking, so presumably, no additional roof repair is needed.

It is my understanding that the customer will soon notify you that the complaint is resolved to her satisfaction.
