My dog recently needed sutures on her lip where she was bitten. The lip was split fairly bad, enough to where sutures were offered by BFAH. I was assured her lip would heal much faster and much cleaner with sutures. So, I decided to pay the $307 for her to be put under and given medication upon discharge (after the $190 up front fee).3 days later I come home from work to find her wound reopened to where it was originally. The sutures had failed. I instantly called BFAH to inform them of the situation. I ended up bringing my dog to them to speak with their doctor. After waiting in an exam room, an assistant took my dog to the back to see the doctor. When they brought her back, it appears they removed the sutures and the loose pieces of flesh from her face. I did not ask them to do that, nor did i sign for her to recieve any care that day. Her excuse was 'the only way the sutures would come out would be from your dog pawing at them.' At no point had I seen her pawing at them. Licking, of course. It's her lip. They asked if I had 24 hr monitoring for her. And added" dogs are much more behaved when their owners are home, so she must only do it when you're not home." I asked what would have prevented this. The vet says if she had a cone it would not have happened. I asked why my dog wasn't given a cone upon discharge. The vet says, "I wasn't here when it happened so I can't say why not." The vet then said she stands by her failed work and that's that. So, I placed my faith in BFAH to help my dog and restore her lip to how it was, or close. I paid the fee, had her put under, and took her home that day with confidence. But after their sutures failed, they refused to make it right, and threw every bs excuse they had at me, I no longer see them as a reputable business. I see them as unaccountable and dishonest.Go somewhere else or temper your expectations for your loved one's care.
