    On August 8, 2017, BBB recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding service issues.

    Complaints allege consumers did not have a full understanding of the interest rate of the loan agreement. Consumers allege the interest rates are in violation of their state laws.

    On August 16, 2017, Plain Green Loans responded to BBB. The company provided BBB with a copy of its loan agreement. In the agreement there are disclosures pertaining to its high cost credit, and, tribal law and the borrower’s state law.

      Took out a $700.00 loan on July 8th with repayment beginning on July the 19th. Plain Green refused to help me by negotiating a payment plan in smaller amounts due to my having lost my job. They did not respond to my contact via email where I plainly stated that their loans are in violation of Usury Law in **********, where our State Supreme Court has determined that there is a standard which must be met for tribal sovereignty to be recognized and an exemption from Usury to be granted in turn. I have already requested, in writing, that all attempts to debit or charge via ACH be revoked with all immediate intent; they have not responded to my request, and they were unwilling to help by phone. I want the amount to be forgiven in full, and am willing to be blacklisted by their service for any future loans in exchange as well as not pursuing any legal action which I may be entitled to.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The Company made no effort to address my concerns regarding the matter at hand, nor did they dispute that their interest rates are Usurious. The law is in my favor that the loan is not enforceable, and I do not want to make any payments toward this debt because of that fact. 

      The company appears to operate physically in ************ and only lists an address on tribal land for their **************** operations. Furthermore, in either event, they are not licensed in **********, and their contract illicitly states that my right to a trial in the court system is waved, further emphasizing that this lending is not legal. 

      Again, I am requesting that the debt be forgiven and my applications be blacklisted for any reason in the future.

      I would love to set up a payment plan with this company. I would love to pay off half on the 9th of August and the other half on the 23rd of August. This makes it within 2 weeks. That loan is predatory in a sense that it charges high interest rates per day. I took off a loan if 700 with them and this is what added today. Now it is already 200 up. This loan is going to make me bankrupt. If they can come in an agreement that I pay off ****** on the 9th and ****** on the 23rd with a small interest rate that would be good. I do not want to pay off double of what I received from them. Plus getting the loan was not speedy. Im reaching out to BBB so they can help a Floridian like me facing financial hardship. How is this company doing that?!?! I may have to really let others know how crazy this loan is. 700 already up to 900 dollars. How does that make any sense for just a 700 dollar loan. Thats ridiculous. Please let me pay half on the 9th and the half of it on the 23rd with interest that makes sense please.

      They denied request. Its just that they dont even have to overcharge for a small loan. They could have reconciled some things with me. But I wont be doing future businesses with them in the future. I also alerted friends and family who wants to use them. Thanks BBB for the help. Appreciate it. Looks like the business made their decision explaining they are tribal and thats what matters. Bye for now.

      I took out a loan with plain green loans but with the rising cost of living and my husband requiring care I called to see if I could get a lower payment of $50 every month because my payment was $188 every 2 weeks and they could not. I tried again to see if i could get a settlement but they wanted the $188 payment but I can't afford that, hence the reason for a settlement. I just need them to work with me and stop charging the high interest rate of 594% on a $800 loan that is over $2000 now. I have been a good customer with them and thought I would be treated better but apparently not. These rates can't be legal in ****.

      This is atill not resolved and the company will not offer me lower payments even though i have had several paid loans with them. I am asking for $50 a month payments and request that they accept. Loyalty should mean something! This interest rate is higher than my state allows.

      I received a loan with plain green loans and I'm being charged over 300% interest. I have been trying to log in to my account and cannot. I tried to reset and they don't send email to me and I've chatted online and they won't send me a link. They say they cannot. They did send it 1 time and the link says page not found. I told them it seems like they are trying to lock me out but all they said was that I need to try the troubleshooting steps. Well I did that already and everything is fine on my end. I will be paying around ******* for a ******* loan. Not sure what I paid so far because I have no access to my account

      I took out a loan with this company at some point. On April 3, 2024 I was in a near fatal car accident and as a result my account has been near empty as I have had to pay for accommodations to my current condition. I communicated this to Plain Green both via email and through the form on their website and they continually call my phone at all hours of the day. I have explained through email multiple times that I will pay off the loan when my car insurance company pays me for my now totaled car. I have also explained in emails that due to my throat injury I am nearly completely incapable of speech and they continue to call me as if I am able to talk anyway. The person on the phone also wouldn't talk to someone that I had attempt to speak on my behalf.I wasn't requesting them to waive the loan or anything I just need my line to be clear for when I receive calls from both my insurance company and my healthcare provider.

      I took out a payday loan with plain green loans under the assumption that if the loan was paid on time interest rates would not be as high. I have made more payments than my original balance and I barely put a dent in it. *** since learned that this companys has already been sued due to extremely high interest rates and false advertising. This loan is not licensed in my state and regularly follow predatory loan practices. I would like this loan to be cleared as I will never be able to pay it off due to the extremely high and illegal interest rates.

      Before I accepted this loan I received an email that told me that my loan would be interest free and that I would have to do nothing it would automatically apply. I accepted the loan. Guess what I cant pay this loan off. Every single payment Ive made was 160 every two weeks. With now deduction. Im currently behind by a lot but if they hadnt ripped me off by sending me a false email Id be out of this loan already. I cant keep spending 160 every two weeks for as little as 800 dollars borrowed. They refuse to honor the email! Hopefully, there is some justice for us that are complaining about this greedy company.

      I took out a loan a couple months ago in an emergency situation. I have paid back what I borrowed but they say I still owe way more than I originally borrowed! I have since learned these type of loans are illegal in my state. My husband has also been laid off from work and I have no way to make anymore payments! Please close my account, **** as Paid in full and do not take out any more money from my bank account!
