    I had my 2007 Honda Accord towed to Denny Menholt Honda on the evening of February 13th, 2023 to diagnose and fix a problem with the manual clutch. The service department was closed it the time my car arrived. The next morning I stopped at the service department to describe the issue I was experiencing with my car. On the morning of February 15th, I received word from Denny Menholt notifying me that their diagnostics on the clutch traced the issue to the cars clutch assembly (e.g., throw-out bearing, clutch disc, and pressure plate), and that those elements would need to be replaced in full. The estimate for this work was $2,082.43. Having been given no other detail regarding the diagnostic process, nor other options for fixing the issue, I authorized to clutch assembly replacement work to take place. One week later, on February 22nd, I received word from Denny Menholt notifying me that the new clutch assembly had been installed, but it did not fix the clutch issue. The actual issue was traced back to the clutch master cylinder. The additional quote for the master cylinder work was $349.20. When I inquired about the condition of the original clutch components, I was told that they showed normal signs of wear but were undamaged and still in working condition. I strongly believe that errors were made during the diagnostic process, resulting in the replacement of an incorrect part. Consequently, I am being asked to bear the full cost of a clutch replacement that I did not require ($2,082.43), as well as an additional $349.20 for the actual part that should have been replaced in the first place. I have offered to pay the full price for the parts and labor to replace the master cylinder ($349.20), as I understand that this is a necessary repair; and the full price for the parts of the clutch assembly ($582.43). However, I cannot justify paying the labor price of the new clutch assembly ($1,500), as it was not necessary and did not fix the issue.
