On February 23, 2017, BBB received a complaint from a consumer alleging Montana Truck Experts is advertising a luxury boat for sale under retail value on Craigslist that does not exist. The consumer alleges that once he inquired about purchasing the boat he was asked to deposit the money into a J.P. Morgan Escrow bank account. The business would not respond to the consumer’s request to inspect the boat in person. Thereafter, the consumer and BBB confirmed the photos of the boat were taken from another website listing the boat for sale. BBB researched the business and found Montana Truck Experts does not exist at the advertised Billings, MT location on their website. In addition, the business is not registered with Montana Secretary of State nor the City of Billings. BBB confirmed with Montana Attorney General’s office this proclaimed dealership is also not licensed with Montana as a new or used vehicle or vessel dealer. BBB also confirmed Montana Attorney General’s office received a complaint from a consumer alleging they had lost $20,000 to this business. Montanatruckexperts.com’s website domain was registered on January 31, 2017 and its’ ownership is privacy protected. BBB found the photos and marketing claims on the website were taken from another truck dealerships’ website located in Joilet, IL. BBB tried to contact the business by phone but could not reach a representative. In addition, BBB has reached out to the business by email and is awaiting a response.
On November 17, 2017, BBB received another consumer report through BBB’s Scam Tracker alleging the company advertised on Craigslist aN 8060 JCB excavator. After the consumer wired money to a fake escrow account to pay for the excavator, the company took the money and the consumer never received the excavator nor has been able to contact the company for a response.
BBB found Montana Truck Experts is now advertising a location at 350 Lake Rd, Bozeman, MT 59718. BBB has confirmed the company is not located at this address. This address is a residential property. BBB also found the company is now using the website, www.mttruckexperts.com.
On January 28, 2018, BBB received a report from a consumer alleging Montana Truck Experts is now operating as Montana Truck Center advertising an address in Columbia Montana. The company is not located at this address. The company is now using the website, http://montanatruckcenter.com.
