  We got a bid from this company in January ******************************************************* the amount of ******. This bid did not include the construction of the deck cover. They said they would send a subcontractor to construct the cover. We gave them $6,000 down. Within a few weeks they told us it would be months before they could provide a subcontractor and suggested we find one on our own. We did, in April 2024 and came to discover how grossly overpriced they were!! After the deck cover was built (not included in their bid) The metal to cover it was $1600, the labor to install it was $1200. That totaled $2800 for nearly a third of the roof cover for less than 1/10 the price!! We contacted the company's owner, **** *******, and told him we changed our mind and could not afford the project. He responded " We don't let clients out of their contract". They had not purchased the metal and were out NO MONEY towards our project!! I offered to compensate them for travel time to my property to prepare the bid. I have contacted several attorneys who were not willing to take the case. At that time they were being sued by the City of ************** for a sinking building in the amount of 4 million dollars. I am retired and cannot afford this loss!! Thanks for your help!!

  I am a little set back by this complaint forwarded to BBB about this particular project.  During one of our direct conversations with the clients they had ask for a delay in the project until they came up with the money to move the project forward.  I agreed and said that is something we would do to help the situation.  I am sorry that they don't like our policy about breaking executed contracts, but that is a policy from most businesses operating is the **************  The courts back written contracts because it is a legal agreement.  I am also sorry that they feel that our price was to high.  They had by law a 3 day right of recession to cancel the contract.  This was not done, and just because they believe that there is a cheaper option for them to complete the project does not give them the cover to cancel a legal and binding contract.

  On a different point, I have warned them in another conversation about spreading untruths about Meridian Construction Company.  They posted on ******** and now in this complaint that we have a current or past lawsuit for 4 million dollars with the City of ******* for a foundation issue.  This is not Meridian Construction Company based out ********  We have no license or have we EVER had any projects in the State of ******  I have let this defamation of my company pass one to many times.  I have tried to work them on delaying the project.  I am assuming the work has been completed by someone else and they are trying to have us give into their demands for a refund of the down payment.

  Due to the fact of them filing this complaint and the defamation against Meridian Construction Company, we are demanding this complaint be closed immediately against Meridian Construction Company.  

  There are two options that Meridian Construction Company will entertain at this point:

  1.  A full release of the contract for the down payment money of $6,000.00 already paid.  Plus an agreement that outlays that no defamation of Meridian Construction Company will continue....

  2.  Meridian Construction Company will file a lawsuit against the clients for all damages under the legal and binding contract, which will include loss profit and all legal expenses.  Also, we will pursue a defamation suit for damages deemed appropriate by our legal team and afforded my Montana State law.

  We didn't fail to provide a contractor for the covered porch.  We are a general contractor that builds commercial building and custom homes along with home improvement projects. We have multi build crews available to complete this project.  The only reason this project did not move forward was due to the ****** saying they had an unexpected bill for some pickup repairs.  This is when I personally told them we could not let them out of the project but we could delay until they recovered from this expense.  Than the conversation turned to they could get it done cheaper by someone else.  I would like to know if this project has been completed by another contractor at this point.

  Again, we are rehashing the same stuff over and over.

  The fact remains, the ****** have breached the contract with Meridian Construction Company.  In addition, they have defamed Meridian Construction Company multiple times which has caused harm to this company.

  My offers stands as presented in my first response.  If this is unacceptable to the ******, we will forward over to our legal team to pursue legal actions for the contract default and the defamation of Meridian Construction Company.

  Meridian Construction Company required a $5,000.00 deposit but has failed to provide building plans as provided in a signed Construction Design Agreement.We are requesting the delivery of the building plans or the return of our $5,000.00 deposit.See additional description attached.

  very bad siding job , so many mistakes because they don't have any one that knows what they are doing , so the job is not done but they want their money, I won't pay the finale payment because of the bad work and they don't have any one smart enough to know what they are doing, they want to put a lien on my house , but the job is NOT done. he has been a bully and threating me. the siding is falling out not over lapped like it should be, big hole everywhere. just want my money back and them to leave me alone so I can get the job done right.

  Every day I find more wrong with this siding job, he now threating to put a lien on my house if I don't pay him, But the job is not done and done right, my house looked better before they messed it up. there is one wall siding going the wrong way, my soffit is so messed up. he has been a real bully. because I am a woman and older. they don't have one person that knows what they are doing most don't even speak English, one side of the house is so different than the other, I had 6 different people working on the house again that is also why it is so messed up. not even sure they put insulation on all the walls, they tried billing me for things they didn't even do, I would be ashamed if I did a job this bad then say the job is done. It like they can just through it together and were done , no matter what it looks like, there is siding flapping in the wind, again not overlapped at all, things are so crocked things cut to short , siding warped , I pay a lot for insurance and had hail damage and be so disappointed in what the house looked like when they said it was done. They have had drunks working on the house, But not one person has any training with vinyl siding. so they just slapped it together and hoped I would not see the mess they made. so very unhappy, I keep getting phone calls and emails treating me with legal stuff. I just want the money that has been put as done payment back and be able to take the other check and hire a real siding *** I should not have to pay when the job was never done right in the first place. I think there insurance Co should pay so I can get it done right before winter hits, because if it is not done right a lot is going to blow off this winter. and really be a mess.

  Meridian contracted with the client to install vinyl siding, and installed the same per manufacturers instructions and industry standard. Meridian has attempted to meet the clients needs, and has completed walk throughs with the client to address any issues with the work. After learning of complaints, Meridian offered to do another walk through to address any further complaints, but was refused. The client has not responded to our many attempts to conduct another walk through. Meridian is still willing to complete this walk through. Many of the clients submitted photographs depict issues with soffit and fascia, which were not part of the scope of Meridians contract or work. The work has reached substantial completion, and the client refuses to pay.

  ******* from Meridian did a walk through and I never heard a word back till I contacted there ************* This is being handled by the *********************** and Meridian has not responded to them .

  there is so much damaged done by them and all he want to do in Threaten me with a lien , The job is not done and done right my house is a mess, so until they get a real Construction *** to do the work right they are not getting paid the balance. He has did nothing but Threaten and Bully me because he doesn't have any body that know what they are doing . and being a senior citizen.he does a lot of threating .
