Case #***** Saturday November 6th I had requested that AAA tow my car to the nearest Hyundai dealer (2 hours) and put in a roadside call. I was told that i was REQUIRED to be present to show my License and member ID to complete the tow. There was a driver that was supposed to meet me around 2:50 pm. When the driver didn’t show by 3pm I called AAA and was told that the driver was still on the way and would contact me when he was closer in route. At 4:21 pm the driver had not shown or contacted me and I called AAA again and they said the tow had been cancelled and they were trying to set up a new one. I asked about reimbursement and was told I could get a third party to tow it to be reimbursed. I secured a tow with a 3rd party and cancelled the current AAA request and was given confirmation of cancellation at 4:40pm. I left the car for a couple hours to run errands while awaiting a tow. At 7pm when 3rd party tow arrived the car was missing and unaccounted for after searching streets and talking to little al business I paid 3rd party and contacted local police to report car stolen. I called AAA at 7:41 to confirm car was not towed and was told it was not. I called again on Sunday at 9:02 am and was reassured call was cancelled and car was not towed by AAA affiliated driver. On Monday I learned that the car was infact towed by a AAA affiliate driver. Without me present, after cancellation, without my consent and without my keys after being told that it was a REQUIREMENT to be present for tow with correct documentation and that this went against AAA policy. I am asking for reimbursement of 3rd party tow bill $801.50 and cost of shipping keys to dealership for service (4 hour drive from my home)
