I would give 0 stars if that was an option. I foolishly booked multiple reservations and did not receive my full refund upon a timely cancellation, even counting the 10% nonrefundable fee. Apparently, they can't do math! Or it really is a scam!

    Business Response:

The client submitted an online reservation request form on our website. Our online reservation request
form requires every client to agree to our terms and conditions in order to submit the request form.  Furthermore, when you call our toll-free number *************), our automated phone system clearly states that we are neither affiliated with the National Park Service nor a concessionaire. It also informs callers that we are a booking agency and that a service fee applies for our services.  As stated in the review, the client was aware our fee is non-refundable.

On June 5, 2024, at 10:02 MST the client submitted an online request to book a reservation at *************************************** with an arrival date of June 15, 2025.Per the request, we booked a reservation at the requested lodge for 3 rooms for 2 nights.  For this service we charge a 10% non-refundable reservation fee.

The client also phoned our company on June 5, 2024 at 10:11 MST to inquire about a different lodge at the same park.  During the reservation call, our agent thoroughly explained the lodge's policies and the associated booking fee. Before finalizing the reservation, the agent asked the client if she had any questions regarding the policies. The client confirmed her understanding and proceeded with the booking for the second lodge arriving June 17th,2025, 3 rooms for 2 nights and a third lodge arriving June 19, 2025, 3 rooms for 2 nights.  For each of these reservations we charged a 10% non-refundable reservation fee as explained above.

On March 30, 2025, at 13:59 MST the client phoned our company to discuss the amount of her refund after cancelling all three reservations.  We explained to her that her deposit was refunded but that our 10% fee is non-refundable.   The client stated she would check her numbers and get back to us.   At 14:47 MST that same day the client phoned back and spoke with our customer service agent who went over each ******************** with the client including the total reservation amount, the deposit amount and our 10% non-refundable reservation fee. The math calculations were done accurately on the phone and the client was given time to write down each number. At the end of the call the client said she had no further questions, she stared she was unhappy paying our fee and ended the call.

Since receiving this BBB review, we have attempted to contact the client via telephone and have not been able to reach them to discuss their concerns.

They are doing fraud. I have an email from the vendors employee asking me to confirm the reservation and the email says it is fully refundable and doesn't mention the 10% fee (it does mention all of the other conditions). I confirmed the emailed quote to the employee and not they are charging me 10% fee for cancellation even though their email quote doesn't mention it. These are grounds for legal action.

Per the company responses to the listed reviews, National Park Reservations (aka U.S. PARK LODGING) claims that the the aggrieved customers were well aware that the company was not a NPS concessionaire and that it would charge a 10% booking fee. In my case I can definitively say that I had no idea of these facts until I had made the reservation and was on the hook for that 10% fee. Why?When I Googled "Old Faithful Inn Reservations," National Park Reservation (U.S. PARK LODGING) was presented as a a top option. Because of its misleading U.S. PARK LODGING name, I ignorantly clicked on it and was taken DIRECTLY to the Old Faithful Inn page (rather than the firm's home page). This page does NOT (repeat "NOT") have the disclaimer the firm has on its home page (about not being a concessionaire and the 10% fee). Believing it to be an official National Park Service reservation company, I went ahead with the reservation. In the process I never saw ANYTHING about the 10% booking fee until I had submitted the reservation and got the confirmation. If this company was in any way legit, it would post info about the 10% booking fee repeatedly during the reservation process -- at the very least in big letters just before one submits. But no. I agree with the other consumers on this complaint page. This company acts deceptively to take advantage of visitors to national parks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

This company is a scam, they even make their website look like a national parks website. They make a reservation for you, but neglect to tell you that there is cancellation fee just that you can cancel 7 days prior to the reservation. Only when you have to change or cancel, they will have the waiting music tell you there is a cancellation fee. But when you call them to make the reservation, they don't tell you anything about it. And it is a 10% cancellation fee on the whole reservations, not just the deposit. Why would we ever use the credit we got from your company? We hope we never have to deal with you ever again!

On April 11, 2024, the client contacted our company to make a reservation. Our automated phone system clearly states that we are neither affiliated with the National ************ nor a concessionaire. It also informs callers that we are a booking agency and that a service fee applies for our services.

During the reservation call, our agent thoroughly explained the lodge's policies and the associated booking fee. Before finalizing the reservation, the agent asked the client if she had any questions regarding the policies. The client confirmed her understanding and proceeded with the booking.

Between April 11, 2024, and August 8, 2024, the client contacted us by phone seven times, during which she repeatedly heard our automated disclosure. These calls were made to inquire about different room types and locations. On August 8, 2024, the client spoke with one of our agents to cancel the reservation and was informed that the booking fee would be held as a credit, applicable toward any future booking fee with our company.

At no point did the client express any concerns about the policies she had previously agreed to during the booking process.

I will give it a zero star if I can. This company is definitely a scam, it uses the national parks reservation as if they are related to NPS. When I book through their website, the cancellation policy doesn't say anything about their 10% non-refundable service fee. And they hide their 10% cancellation fee in a separate tab. When you realize that they tricked you with the 10% fee, they will say "well it is written in our terms and conditions". Yes, maybe it is written in the terms and conditions, but it is clearly this company is trying to hide that 10% of fee from customers.

This company did not clearly disclose that there would be a fee for their services. Their name is very misleading in that they sound like an official website of the National Park. Yes, the small print discloses that they are not, but in no way is this clear. The website is very deliberately set up to make one think they are the official website for park lodging. They are a "travel agency" and as such they charge a fee. Again, yes, small print discloses that. My email confirmation did NOT disclose that there would be a fee. Shame on me for not looking closer. Shame on this company for being misleading. There are many complaints of this very same nature. Again, shame on me for not checking.

This is a very misleading web site. You think you are using the National Park Service....because the web sight is titled "National Park Reservations"....but actually using a 3rd party booking service that charges a 10% booking fee that is not obvious to me at time of booking. The confirmation actually comes from the *************** which is the legitimate reservation company...but that does not disclose the 10% fee.
