In April 2023, we paid zem roofing a deposit of $1750.00 which was half of the total agreed on price of $3500.00 to replace all the screws in our metal roof. They showed up to do the job on April 17th, but brought the wrong size screws for our roof. They said they would go exchange them for the correct size and be right back. They never returned. A few days later they texted that they now wanted an extra $1500.00 to buy the proper screws. I said that since we are senior citizens living on our Social Security, $1500.00 extra was more than we could afford and wanted a refund. They said they wont be returning our deposit. They didnt do any work and still have our money. They said they needed to buy **** screws for our roof. I googled the number of screws needed per square feet of a metal roof:For every one hundred square feet, you need to get eighty screws. For example, if your roof is **** sq. ft., you should buy 45 x 80 = **** screws.) Our home is **** sq ft. (that means that appx. ***** screws are needed. Not ****) **** screws are enough for a **** sq ft home. Thats enough to do our home 5 times. I believe that this is a case of intentional fraud by deceptive practices. Shame on you zem roofing!
