Contract began March 23, 2023! We were told approximately 6 month's to build and we are now 16 months (July 29, 2024) and it is not complete and there are safety and quality issues. They placed the house in a location we did not want. They even placed the house without considering the survey or the *** setback restrictions. The house had to be relocated with a variance from the ***. The driveway is not safe and I was almost in an accident exiting. The siding was installed wrong on multiple levels and has to be corrected on 80% of the house (per the project manager). It was also not the correct color. The project manager was given 2 different color selection pages and chose not to call the customer and to just pick one. This was an administration issue that could have been easily resolved.We have gotten 2nd opinions on the issues and discovered they were not handled properly. We have spent $400,000 so far and are over budget $45,544.00 due to their poor management of the project. We have paid the price in actual money and time (which is even more money).The nature of our dispute is we want retribution for ************ lost PLUS the house to be completed correctly. We have tried to reach out to corporate and left reviews on ****** with no success. When calling you get directed to the local level. We hope you can help us get connected with someone at the corporate level. The company is currently repairing the siding issue but do not feel they have a responsibility on the driveway. Until the siding has been reinspected we cannot say where we are there. Regardless this has been TERRIBLE and very costly. We have not used any financing and this has been a major financial burden to drag on for this long! We also want to help prevent this from happening to other people! We do not feel like the reviews you see online are an honest representation of this company. We have seen 1 star reviews disappear. Thank you for your help BBB!!!Business Response

I have had nothing but issues since I got Americas home place to build my house which was finished this past oct. I have been very patient despite numerous times that you can not get employees to return texts, calls or emails. At one point the regional manager came to the job site because of issues. I cant speak for the other locations but Asheville is a nightmare to deal with. After the build because there are to many things to list I had hot water for one day of which AHP and I notified the plumber immediately which the plumber never did call me back until AHP got involved and I kept getting told by the plumber nothing was wrong with the hot water tank and it wasnt until the owner of the plumbing company got involved that he replaced the faulty hot water heater but it shouldnt have taken weeks and me being in a new home you should be able to take e shower. Now the latest problem I moved in oct the propane fireplace has never worked right making a very loud sound and putting off no heat I was told AHP couldnt get in touch with the fireplace company wasnt until I started contacting them myself that ot seemed AHP was trying to get them out here/ I noticed AHP that the appt was never kept still hadnt seen anyone about the fireplace and I never heard from AHP again so again I have attempted to get the heater fixed myself. I can only say pick another company to build your house if not plan to have a good attorney because they will not make good on their promises. ******************* was also told about it sounding like water dripping in the attic after a large rain storm and they never came to check it out. Also told me to keep using the fireplace even though it did not sound right. I dont think telling someone to use propane when there is obviously something wrong with it very good practice.Business Response

Buyer beware!What we thought was going to be a good experience with ********* Home Place has turned out to be a nightmare.First thing that happened was that we were forced to settle before the electric was on. We had no walkthrough or testing of systems before we moved in. We had 3 days without electricity so we had to stay somewhere else. We had NO official punch list.* The county inspector stated the roof truss was not designed for our house. He stated that it was not even close.* They put the wrong hearth on the fireplace. The hearth they put in is flush with the floor. On the original contract, we ordered an 8" hearth. When we questioned ********* Home Place about this, they showed us a different contract from what we had, stating we did not order a raised hearth. Where did this contract come from??? We then provided them a copy of our original contract which showed an 8" hearth. (THIS IS HUGE TO **)* The shingles on the roof are lifting up * We still need one screen and one shutter (it's been 5 months)* The wrong front door was installed and had to be replaced. It is still not painted (it's been 5 months)* We have 3 places in the flooring that have squeaks in them * The linoleum was pieced together and had to be replaced in the laundry room and bathroom. We were without one bathroom for 4 days. We had to reinstall and repaint the trim ourselves in the laundry room or else no laundry could be done.So, it's been 5 months of being in our house and we still have a punch list. When we contact our "person in charge" of getting all these problems resolved, we are put on the back burner. It is like no one cares about fixing these issues.If ********* Home Place would use experienced contractors, these issues wouldn't happen.Business Response
