1 starI purchased my vehicle from Team Group in October of 2022. I took my car in due to right rear tire leaning out. Was told the rear axle was rusted and in need of a 2,687.00 repair and by the way your 4,000 warranty doesn’t cover it because of you don’t have wear and tear coverage! When I bought the warrant I was told it covered EVERYTHING! So my car was supposed to have inspected by Team Group before I bought it and my tires were rotated by Team Group in September 23. So they sold me a car with the entire axle rusted through. They knew this, had to see it in September when tires rotated. They have not answered the phone when I called. My car has been in the shop for 11 days and I and renting a car to get to work. I am 69 years old and have been totally taken advantage of. My car probably will not be repaired by tomorrow so another weekend of paying for a rental. So sorry I went there.Review fromSheri P

1 starI scheduled a test drive by contacting the number provided on the Team Chevrolet of Boone website. The customer service received from this number was seemingly outstanding. I was given a time to arrive at the dealership and even asked if I would like a soda or water to drink upon my arrival. I explained this was a test drive for my son’s first car and they even asked what he would like to drink upon arrival. I was amazed by this gesture. However, my arrival and subsequent service from the dealership made it clear the customer service offered prior to visit was from a call center. When we arrived for the scheduled test drive, no one expected us or even had our names down. The car wasn’t ready. We waited over an hour to even see the car and another 2 hours to finalize the deal. It seemed as though the salesman and finance person had little experience. Prior to signing purchase agreement, the salesman and manager promised “we owe you” items that included 2 repairs and a car Jack that was missing from trunk. This purchase was made on July 28, 2023. It is October 4, 2023 and we still do not have the items promised NOR have we received the license plate for the vehicle. The temporary tag expired 8/28/23 and no amends have been offered, even after communicating with the manager, Tony R***. Very disappointed and will never visit this dealership again.Review fromB. L.

Called ahead to make sure vehicle available before driving 1 hr & told yes. When we got there, they had let an employee drive it home because she was without a vehicle (not a problem). We were willing to wait, despite being told it was on the lot. We were told we could go grab lunch while we waited for the employee to drive it back to the dealership for us to test drive. We drove 1.1 miles away to eat at Subway and gone 35 minutes. They called saying the car was back on the lot but needed our credit card # to hold it, despite us being there first and the car being unavailable for us to view. We did not give our cc info over the phone so the mgr let another customer drive it. When we came back, they were doing the paperwork to sell them the car. The manager said if we wanted the vehicle, he would sell it to us—out from under the other people (an older couple filling out the financial paperwork just 10ft away from where we were having this conversation) because we were there 1st. However, the $1,000 discount we were originally offered was suddenly no longer offered. Manager said “that was their practice” without a trade in. Their “practice” is unethical. 1. They said the car was on the lot and it was not. 2. They tried to sell the car from under us within 30 min when it wasn’t available to view!. 3. When we complained about them selling it to someone else, they offered to sell us the car from underneath the older couple! 4. They lied about the $1,000 discount they originally offered. I had cash ready to buy today. I was even willing to finance for at least 3 months so the dealership would get their kickback before paying it off in full. They lost an easy sale. Their “practices” cost them. There is a right way and a wrong way to treat people. Character matters to good, honest, hard working people & I am disappointed in Team Boone Chevrolet.Team Chevrolet Buick GMC of Boone

Mr. and Mrs. *****,
We appreciate your feedback regarding your recent experience with us. We would like to provide some clarifications on the situation.
As explained over the phone when you called and spoke with our Agent, there were over 30 inquiries on the vehicle you were interested in. Despite this, we were still willing to work with you and offered to set a reservation for you when you mentioned that you might make the hour's drive to see the vehicle. However, you hung up the phone before our Agent could complete the reservation process or even obtain a phone number.
Furthermore, when you arrived and were willing to wait and get lunch while waiting for the vehicle to return, our Team promptly called you to take a partial payment to mark the vehicle as sold with your name. Unfortunately, you declined this option, which is within your rights as a customer. However, we want to clarify that we do not hold vehicles, and the vehicle was shown to another couple. Nevertheless, our Manager still expressed willingness to offer the vehicle to you.
Regarding your statement that we lied about the $1,000 discount, we want to emphasize that all our discounts and disclaimers are clearly stated on our website. We strive to provide accurate and transparent information to our customers at all times.
While we understand your disappointment, we would like to clarify that we followed our standard procedures and made efforts to accommodate your needs despite the high demand for the vehicle. We take customer service seriously and always aim to provide the best experience possible.
We value your business and would be happy to discuss the situation further with you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.B. L.

Unfortunately, most of this is not accurate. While I did decline to give out my personal information over the phone, I did not hang up on the representative—who told me she was not located on site at the dealership. With over 30 inquiries, I am not sure you are even correct that this accusation was me—I never gave my name or phone number. Perhaps there were multiple people who had negative interactions? Your response did not address the unethical practices that TEAM Chevrolet Boone used. The biggest was meeting to finalize the sale of the same vehicle to 2 different customers AT THE SAME time less than 15 feet apart. While there were a multitude of red flags and “slimy” procedures (like the salesman telling us that despite what the online terms said, we could work around the terms for $1,000 deal since we had to wait on the car to arrive), let me reiterate that if these are your standards, they are FAR too low for Chevrolet and need to be addressed. After reviewing the customer reviews on Facebook, KBB and others, I was not shocked to see this is sadly the normal operating procedures for this dealership. I rarely write a negative review but I want to make sure others are not taken advantage of like this—time, energy, and emotion wasted. I am deeply disappointed that people and businesses operate this way—especially in Boone, NC. :(Review fromBrenda J.

We purchased a used truck from Team Chevrolet of Boone NC. In talking with the salesman we were assured that the truck had been inspected and was good to go. We trusted his word and signed the necessary documents. As we drove the truck home we discovered an issue with the brakes, the AC and the power windows. The next day the check engine light came on. There was a 3 month, 3000 mile dealership warranty so we took the truck back for repairs. Upon returning the truck we were told by the service representative that the truck had not been inspected before we bought it. The service department found more extensive damage than we initially thought. We also discovered that there was an extensive amount of rust around the wheel wells which had rubber covers over them. Finally we discovered that the truck was overpriced. Team Chevrolet refused to allow us to return the truck and refund the cash down-payment. Team Chevrolet is not to be trusted. So buyer beware.Team Chevrolet Buick GMC of Boone

Hi ******. Thank you for the feedback. You definitely have a valid concern regarding the check engine light. However, the truck was fully inspected on 8/5/2022, before you purchased on 8/8/2022. Also, when the issue was brought to our attention, we took the truck into our service department and fixed all issues at no cost to you. The truck is finished through service and ready for pick up at any time. Are there other issues that have not been addressed? Thank you ******.
