- On April 8, 2021, Daniel S. Rufty entered into a Consent Order with the North Carolina State Bar. The Consent Order settles allegations that the Defendant violated N.C. Gen. Stat. § 84-28(b)(3) by knowingly misrepresenting facts or circumstances surrounding a complaint, allegation or charge of misconduct to the State Bar and N.C. Gen. Stat. § 84-28(b)(2) by violating the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Under terms of the Consent Order, the Defendant agreed to:
1. Suspension and surrender of his law license for a period of five years, effective 30 days after service of Consent Order.
2. Defendant may apply for a stay of the remaining term of the suspension after serving no less than six months and upon compliance with all conditions and provisions outlined in Consent Order.
