1 starI do not recommend Accent Brier Creek, as it is abundantly clear that they rushed to get tenants in the units without ensuring the units were move in ready. I have been finding issues with my unit nearly every week since moving in late January. I have only been here for 2 months and have had to submit multiple maintenance orders for 11 different issues including improperly installed doors, messy paint application, broken closet light, broken bathroom sink, and more. I find new problems every other day. There is also trash outside near the entrances and pool gate area because whoever they hired for Valet Trash is terrible at their jobs. The most serious issue, however, was the improperly installed blinds, which fell on me and resulted in me sustaining a concussion. I was told that prior to me moving in, a walk-through would be conducted of my unit; however, considering all the issues with the unit since moving in, it has been made clear that a proper walk through had not conducted. I had to take weeks off of work to heal from my concussion and lost out on over $5,000 worth of income and was left with an $8,000 ER bill. I was looking forward to making the most of the move-in special I received for February, but instead of being able to enjoy having a month of free rent, I am now in debt due to Accents negligence. They then had the audacity to send me a Late Letter for not paying my March rent on time, even after I informed them I had been out of work for weeks due to sustaining a concussion after the blinds fell on my head. My ability to work has been impacted, I havent been able to sleep without the aid of sleep medication since the incident, my head hurts all the time, Ive been breaking out in stress hives, and I feel Accent will continue to drag their feet until I either give up or they find a reason to evict me.Review fromHarrison J.

1 starI wish I could also leave 0 stars. My girlfriend had an apartment here in *************, ***************, and she followed the lease-breaking procedures when moving out. The ledgers they use are consistently inaccurate, and you can tell they make their own adjustments to justify the amounts they are charging. I had to walk their Vice President **** ******* through the math of how much had been paid with our bank statements, and it wasn't until this that they changed their tone and the alleged balance she owed them. Started at $2400 and ended at $204. Coupled with poor/lack thereof responses from the staff, this is a place to steer clear. This is probably why they still haven't found a tenant for my girlfriend's old place that she moved out of over 6 months ago. In addition to showing them how to add and subtract, we somehow owed them cleaning fees, even though they don't do joint inspections on move-out, and I know the place was in good order when we left. As an added insult, after paying off the remaining adjusted balance for the cleaning mentioned above fee and having a final statement proving as such, they sent the account to collections, dropping her credit score, for some $2400 dollars, which we are now currently disputing, and are seeking legal counsel for financial injury due to their clearly negligent business practices.Their practices will provide nothing short of financial injury to you or anyone you know who lives here. Stay clear.Review fromLui T

1 starTo Whom It May Concern I am writing to express my absolute disgust and fury over the outrageous and indefensible actions taken by ******* [Last Name] of RKW Residential, which have led to the complete destruction of my life. The events that have transpired are not only beyond comprehension but also an utter disgrace to any sense of decency and legality. Grave Misconduct and Abuse of PowerJessica espinozain an appalling display of arrogance and malice, falsely presumed that I was incapable of continuing to live in my home following the tragic death of my boyfriend, [Boyfriends Name]. Her assumption was not based on any factual evidence but rather on a prejudiced and baseless belief that I, a grieving person, was suddenly unfit to manage my own affairs.Instead of following any ethical protocol, ******* [Last Name] chose to fabricate lies and manipulate the system to force me out of my home. She orchestrated a despicable plot, providing false testimony that led to my wrongful detainment under the ***** Act. This was a deliberate act of cruelty, designed to strip me of my rights, dignity, and everything I hold dear.Violation of My Rights:On [april], armed with nothing but Jessicas lies, officers from [Name of ****************** stormed into my home, treating me like a criminal in my own residence. Without any just cause or proper investigation, they dragged me away and locked me in a mental health facility for seven excruciating days. This was not only an illegal detainment but an inhumane attack on my very being.During this time, ******* ********] and her associates moved swiftly to evict me from my home, leaving me homeless, jobless, and destitute. The sheer audacity and callousness of these actions are beyond words. ******* [Last Name] not only abused her position but did so with a level of cruelty that is nothing short of monstrous.IrreparableReview fromAngelixa A

1 starI moved into ************* ****** Nc managed by RKW 5/13/24. The amenities that are included in the rent are not available to the consumer. I have paid for cable and internet and spectrum states they are waiting on apartment mgmt to add me to bulk sales every day I've called. I've spoken to the girls in front office of apartment complex however no one is fixing the issue! No one answers the phone in front office nor do they call you back. It has now been 3 weeks without the service I'm paying for monthly. The *********** boxes are not completed and the pool is not finished and we keep hearing inconsistent stories of when things will be complete. I've tried to contact Rkw residential to no avail. It doesn't seem lawful to pay for cable and internet and still not be receiving. Neighbors around me have gotten it in 4 days!Review fromBee P

1 starI have been a tenant with one of RKWs properties since May 2023. I have been generally unhappy here, but most importantly, I have a mental impairment that has gotten worse since living in the apartments, so much so that my ability to function in daily life has been affected. The complex is not safe, the apartments are built very poorly with thin walls and flooring, and there are several disturbances in the neighborhood. My home is not accessible to me in the sense that when I am in this apartment, the side effects of my disabilities are exacerbated. I did not have these deep side effects until living this apartment where they have continued to worsen over the months that I have been here. I requested a reasonable accommodation to be released from my lease without penalty (with ~3 months left in the lease) so that I can get the appropriate care that I need and move to an environment that will not provide such triggers for me. After careful research and consultation with a lawyer, I am well within my right to request an accommodation such as this one and my mental impairment history is thoroughly documented. I was denied the accommodation without being given a proper reason as to why this was, nor were any alternatives offered. I feel that their process was not just in accordance with FHA and HUD regulations. I feel that I was treated with neglect in this situation. When a reasonable accommodation request is made, the law states that a housing provider should make every attempt to accommodate the request including changing their rules if necessary so that a disabled person can have access to equal and fair housing. This was not done for me and I received a straight denial. Based on the conversation with the lawyer, I filed a complaint with HUD. I am now posting this on BBB so that others can be aware that if you have any mental impairment or physical disability, renting from RKW may not be recommended as they will not change their policies to help you for equality.Review fromTiara W

1 starSince RKW took over ************* I have been subjected to ongoing harassment, discrimination, and intimidation and after filing my 1st and only noise complaint and concerns about stolen packages on 12/10/23 I received a round-a-bout cease and desist via a Notice to Cure for having drapes on my patio. They first described my drapes as unauthorized alterations and now they are stating that the fire **** deemed them a fire hazard whereas thats yet to be confirmed as true from the department and there are no state laws or city ordinances that validate this accusation. I also observed (to this day) several other tenants with drapes, curtains, decorative items small and large but only my thin plain cloth drapes are the problem? ****** ignored my emails and only responded when I sent a certified letter. I specifically indicated that email/written correspondence is requested as a reasonable accommodation and she ignored this and insisted on meeting me in-office. I am disabled with numerous unpredictable ailments. The following month they refused my rent payment by lying to me and a police officer about receiving it. I am also a DV victim and have concerns that theyve colluded with the predator due to certain other things that have occurred. Not only have I been subjected to their mistreatment but 3 other residents have harassed me or stalked me in some way and I no longer feel safe here. I cannot even sit in my vehicle without a random resident staring me down and taking photos of me. I have not done anything that would necessitate the treatment Ive experienced from anyone here. I just wanted a safe place to live where the abuser couldnt find me and they are now threatening to evict me DURING THE HOLIDAYS. They charge junk fees for online rent payments and the only alternative is in-person payments, but I'm unable to speak with the leasing office only their Atty. I have evidence of everything in the event they LIE or try to manipulate the truth or gaslight me.Review fromDee S

1 starThis place is AWEFUL! I have rented and apartment in ********************** Ct not even 2 months ago. Day three I Everyone in the building warn me about a tenant. Well let me tell this women has stalked me, broke a light globe and threw here dog business out her front door and call ****** and said it was me, calls the police at least 3 to 4 times a week, trys and sues everyone, got in my face in front of my door and then called management said it was me. Then management says would you put it into writing, which I did. Per management the know the problems and are working on them for over a year. I have been give 2 warning (waiting for a third write up) for doing nothing I write I did admitted to but after being harrassed, the finger enough is enough. I sure she has something on management that's way the put up with it, That's fine but they received many emails from me and have done NOTHING about it. Now I hired an attorney and the state is also involved. The police know this women, ************************** knows her and animal control know her. It would of been nice for them to tell me the issues instead of covering them up. I now have to leave my apartment with my video on what away to live. Stay FAR AWAY!Review fromKhami O

1 starIf I could give ZERO stars I would. My home is infested with mold. I am 9 months pregnant with 2 young daughters living here. I have reached out to the property manager multiple times and she is rude and never at work. I have called corporate to which theyve ignored me multiple times. Do not move into any RKW property because they have a hard time at doing their simple jobs efficiently.
