1 starI would give this company -20 stars if I could. Had a brand new Hayward H250FDN pool heater installed in May of 2021. Beginning of July 2022, heater exchanger cracked and began leaking. Filed warranty claim through Hayward. Hayward initially tried to blame us for poor water chemistry and negligence. However, both my husband and I are CPO certified. (Certified Pool and Spa Operators). My husband also works as a pool and spa technician himself. We are meticulous with our water chemistry and pool operations and do everything by the book. Anyways, after going back and forth with Hayward, they eventually decided to honour the warranty. We were shipped a new heater that didnt arrived until the end of August. We also needed new venting, which wasnt installed until November of 2022, just as we were closing the pool. Therefore, we missed the whole pool season, which is limited to begin with. That brings us to this year, 2024, and lo and behold, in August, the heat exchanger cracked yet again. Despite everything that we have done to prevent this from happening, our experience, qualifications, and meticulous record keeping and water chemistry, it happened again. Filed another claim through Hayward. It has now been a month and 1/2, and we just received another new pool heater today. The season is over. They have also stated that they will not honour any more warranties if this should happen again and it will due to faulty heat exchangers and manufacturing defects. The amount of money that we have already spent on this is insane, not to mention the stress and frustration. We still have to pay for labour to get it installed again. We should NOT be having to go through this again!! This is the THIRD pool heater in 3 years, and we are absolutely NOT negligent. We take meticulous care of our pool and equipment, and it still wont stand the test of time. The quality of their products has seriously degraded over the last few years. This experience has been soul crushing.Review fromKathy E

1 starI would never buy another Hayward product. They do not call you back for warranty issues. They keep putting you in a queue and tell you wait another day but there are no guarantee for a call back. We been dealing with this issues for 4 days.Review fromColleen N

1 starCustomer ********************** is absent. I can't get the cooling system to work, each "representative " just tells me to watch UTube videos. I have been calling for weeks, don't bother with this companyReview fromKris L

1 starI recently purchased the Hayward HC Series-Dual Fuel 400k BTU model, and my experience has been frustrating. The warranty procedure is severely lacking, with slow responses and a tendency to throw parts at the problem instead of providing a proper solution. This approach leaves me without a functioning product for extended periods.Initially, I encountered a blown fuse requiring a new circuit board. The gas would not ignite, and even after replacing the fuse and regulator, I continued to face issues with maintaining pressure. To make matters worse, the coil rusted through on this supposedly new machine within just nine months.Adding insult to injury, Hayward claimed the coil rusted due to water chemistry and refused to cover it under warranty. After speaking with management from pool supply companies, I learned that it is a common practice by Hayward to avoid responsibility for defective parts. From my contractor's understanding, Lone Star Contracting, Hayward tends to blame external factors like weather or lightning for these issues, refusing to take responsibility or replace the faulty equipment. The installed equipment and all the fittings cost me $8,865.00, which has been a headache. In summary, the Hayward HC Series-Dual Fuel 400k BTU has been unreliable, and the company's warranty support has been subpar. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product or company.Review fromClaire D

1 starI bought a pool and filter from them less than 3 years ago. I have had their pumps and filters for over 40 years. This is my third one. Last year this pump and filter was making a horrible loud noise. So before Ths season we took off the top of the filter to clean it real clean I read of pumping it. Inside were three unattached pieces! This was during Covid and everyone was buying pools and no one was working so I am assuming they just threw these parts in it instead of assembling them. One piece goes to another area so they didnt fall off. I contacted Hayward and got No RESPONSE! Dont buy a filter unless they take the top off and you dont have pieces just laying inside. Buyer Beware they dont care!Review fromFred H

1 starI had a Hayward salt water system on my pool. This year at startup it was not generating. I called Hayward tech support. The lady had me run a test and told me the main circuit board was bad. O K so I order a new one. It arrives with absolutely no instructions mind you. After three more calls for answers, you don't get them all at once mind you, I have it up and running. Still not generating. I call tech support . The lady has me run the same test as the first time with the same exact results. Now she says the generator is bad, will need a new one. Now she tells me the both parts must be bad. At the same time, really. So the kicker is the circuit board can't be returned once installed. Their tech department is a sham, I will not get a Hayward generator, or anything else with Hayward on it from now on. Had it with these guys.Review fromTova L

1 starI have a Hayward electric pool pump. I worked fine for 15 months then started tripping the circuit breaker. I called Hayward for assistance in locating a repair service and was referred to their web site., I informed the representative that I already did that but no one would service my area of Queens NY. Hayward fails to stand behind their products. I am totally disgusted with their response.Review fromElla B

1 starBought a Hayward Heat Pump for my pool and it only worked for one season. The issue is, I could not get anyone from Hayward to contact me until I reached out to their marketing people on social media. Then when they tried to get a tech to service my heater, the "tech refused the ticket" - so clearly they do not have any technicians in the area and do not contract out to anyone reputable. They are sending me a replacement heat pump for my pool but I need to pay for installation again - electric and plumbing. Do NOT go with Hayward products as they do not have any techs knowledgable enough or willing to service units that stop working. There are other reputable companies where you could get a heat pump for your pool.Review fromLeigh B

1 starBought a Hayward Heat Pump. It started failing with an error about flow rate. Technician inspected and says I need a “4-ton expansion valve”. Amazon says $94.63, but not in stock. A couple other vendors can’t get, and/or can’t/won’t ship to my location. My local vendor says $273 plus shipping and tax. Plus 4-5 weeks to get it here. So I have a pool I can’t heat, a part I need but can’t get right now, and the “opportunity” to pay 3 to 4 times the Amazon price, or I’m just SOL. Hayward’s website and customer service were not able to identify any vendors near me, despite my having bought the heater from their local vendor.
